leather jacket - yes or no

Not sure if this is a hangover of lusting after leather jacket in my college days (which are an era away now!)...found a short one half price in Next (can't figure out how to do a link, product code 494-977-X45). Now wondering whether to return it. I am a 38 year old, 'doesn't know style when it hits her in the face' kind of person. Am 5'3" olive skinned with small bust, small waist, big hips. Suspect this might be a bad idea, what do you think? If I keep it, what do I wear it with?

Short jackets and big hips - maybe no, is it fitted or bomber style? Fitted couldbe fine

I have a thigh length leather jacket - a peacoat style and love it it's so warm and waterproof too.

I like the shape- hmm, but it looks maybe a little shiny? Would need to see it in rl.

You could wear it over jumper/jersey dresses, with skinny jeans and ballet flats/ converse.

The cut-away bottom of that jacket will emphasise your hips, imo. Tis nice though. I agree with DWP - a longer peacoat style would be very flattering.

no it isn't too shiny, dont think the pic does it justice in that respect. it is indeed fitted, but the 'big hips' argument wins...return it is! thanks all for your suggestions, will keep my eyes opened for a longer one!

I think you could get nicer leather jackets for the money tbh.
