Can you recommend me a hairdryer?

My hairdryer just fizzled out and died in a rather smelly way. DH says it's burned itself out as I didn't clean the filter (who knew?!)

Can anyone recommend a new one? I'm not bothered about anything fancy (diffusers, nozzles, blah blah) - just a fast drier which isn't too heavy

Thanks!

Mine also died on Monday so I ordered this from Amazon, really pleased with it.

this is the one I have, 2200 w "turbo" ,but really it seems a bit weak. I do have very thick, long hair, so I do need something powerful.

I've got a professional grade hairdryer (used in Aveda salons) - its this one and is marvellous - REALLY powerful.

TheLemur · 29/01/2010 21:07

Thanks all, I'll pop into my Boots and see what Babyliss there are as that seems to be the brand to have!

Gulp, Zembo - just seen your link, that's a tad pricey for the likes of me!

It's the most expensive hairdryer I've ever bought but I'm hoping it will last. I've been getting through about one every 5 years previously!

TheLemur · 04/02/2010 09:58

Rubyrubyruby what is ionic and why is it so good?

Zembo I am about to buy the hairdryer you recommended as my one died a sorry death this morning!

Zembo · 04/02/2010 13:57

Hope you like it PDR its easily the most powerful hairdryer I've ever had and I love it!

trixymalixy · 04/02/2010 14:30

OOOh, I need a new hairdryer as mine has burnt out.

Zembo, this might seem like a very strange favour to ask, but would you mind measuring the widest part of your hairdryer (the largest diameter IYSWIM) for me as I need it to be able to fit flat in a drawer?
