Sizing rant.

Now I am usually a size 14-16 top, being broad of back and blessed with 34 F boobs.
Popped into M&S and Next today (yes I know, I was killing time before going to work)
I actually tried on a couple of tops in Marks- couldn't get in the 18!!! Just simple jersey tops. And Next- tried on a stripy tunic in an 18 which made me look as if it had shrunk- I refused on principle to try a 20 .
I am very tall and slim- size 14 bottom.
What is going on?

I'm right there with you! I think manufacturers have been mucking about with their sizing, ostnesibly to fit in with the Great British shape (i.e. a pear) but it doesn't help us who are large of nork.

I find bravissimo quite good - fits in the chest and doesn't swamp the waist. Better to see it in the shop though - some of the fabrics are great, some less so.

I have no idea - haven't been shopping in a while... I am a 30FF and as long as it is jersey/stretchy I can wear 10/12 depending where I am shopping - H&M tend to be 12/14 (medium) on top for me, same with Topshop. Monsoon more generously cut imho. I don't tend to shop in M&S/Next so can't help you with the sizing.

m&s size guide - get the measuring tape out and then send off an e-mail?
