would you wear it when you were changing the tyre on your tractor?

OP posts:
jaquelinehyde · 28/01/2010 19:05

I would expect it to change the bloody tyre for me at that price!

PoppityPing · 28/01/2010 19:05

actually I would never take it off in order to get value for money

NorbertDentressangle · 28/01/2010 19:07

God no! I'd wear it for reclining in front of the Aga whilst reading a classic, staring wistfully into the distance of course

SixtyFootDoll · 28/01/2010 19:08

Snort - does one think one is apsiring to a certain lifestyle type?

NorbertDentressangle · 28/01/2010 19:09

err, serious question here...why is this a throatwarmer and not a good old-fashioned 'scarf'??

VintageGardenia · 28/01/2010 19:12

He must have spent all his £££ on the cardi & had to let the odd job man go.

I went there thinking about wristwarmers reduced to £29 but changed my mind before the picture had fully loaded. Not sure what I was thinking!

NorbertDentressangle · 28/01/2010 19:12

another serious question...would you let your DC climb trees if they are wearing £200 of cashmere jumpers between them?

Cyb · 28/01/2010 19:13

That takes the biscuit for the ponciest site I have seen in a long time

VintageGardenia · 28/01/2010 19:14

Oh I'd just meticulously handwash bung em in the machine afterwards I suppose.

OP posts:
Cyb · 28/01/2010 19:14

we call these gloves where I come from

They don;t even cover his bloody wrists

VintageGardenia · 28/01/2010 19:15

Wrist teasers.

OP posts:
KristinaM · 28/01/2010 19:18

ahem - i think that is too narrow to be a tractor wheel

GrimmaTheNome · 28/01/2010 19:19

WTF doesnt anyone seem to make nice kids woollys like that in normal wool? [grumble grumble]

Norbert, its a 'throatwarmer' because (according to some MNers, 'real men don't wear scarves')

Real men sure as heck don't wear 'throatwarmers'

woodyandbuzz · 28/01/2010 19:20

If I had spent £330 on a cardigan, I would be asking someone to slap some sense into me and hope that I could find the receipt!

I love the idea that a small boy's jumper might 'become a family heirloom'! Esp a handwash-only one

But they seem so have sold out of practically everything so that kind of ponciness clearly has a market.

GrimmaTheNome · 28/01/2010 20:47

Now be fair, it was a mere £249 in the sale wasn't it? Bargain! (not)

kissmummy · 28/01/2010 21:18

children wearing posh labels = just freaky if you ask me. how can you be a proper child in cashmere?

SixtyFootDoll · 28/01/2010 21:55

THis has to be the ponciest website ever, pmsl at romanara's comment!

woodyandbuzz · 29/01/2010 10:40

I thought that cashmere attracts moths. So the moths come to eat your cashmere up and then they eat the rest of your clothes whilst they are there. There is nothing made of cashmere in our whole house, I don't understand why people like it!

piratecat · 29/01/2010 10:43

oh my goodness, a 'throatwarmer', i swear I've heard it all now.

what about finger warmers to match.

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/01/2010 10:59

Grimma that link to the throstwarmer proves my theory (men in scarves = ponces) to be true

snowpoint · 29/01/2010 12:46

OMG - my friend gave me one of her cardigans while having a clearout the other week, and it is a Brora one... had no idea how much the things cost!
(rushes off to get ebay open..)

MrsSeanBean · 29/01/2010 21:03

Brora cashmere is incredibly good quality and hardwearing. On a cost per wear basis I think it's quite reasonable.

I'd rather have one Brora cashmere sweater and wear to death, than a dozen New Look (or similar) at £20 a pop. (Not that there;s anything wrong with New Look as such. It's just a matter of choice and personal preference.)
