I need a new gym bag

I had an ancient backpack, which has now completely collapsed, and need a new bag for all my gym stuff. I'm currently using one of those outnet ones you get with purchases.

Any suggestions?

any old crappy bag in the bottom of your wardrobe?

SerenityNowAKABleh · 28/01/2010 09:54

You're not particularly helpful, are you Brad?

do people see it?

SerenityNowAKABleh · 28/01/2010 10:13

Yes. It's not necessarily just for going to and from the gym, but when going away (I travel a lot for work) etc. etc.

I bought one of these last week.

£110! thud

i use a uniqlo shopping bag like that £12.50 for swimming stuff

I brought a gym bag from soccor sport which has a seperate shoe section at the bottom of the bag which I find ideal because now my sweaty trainers don't make the whole bag stink!

LastTrainToGeneva · 28/01/2010 13:40

you lot with a special bag for every purpose...where do you store your collection? Genuine question!

Me...I use a jute carry-bag that I got from Sainsbury last year. After all I only need to fit a change of clothes, a towel and a small bottle of shampoo! No way I'm spending £110 for that - I'd rather spend the same money on some scrummy cardigans that peple will actually see me in [stubborn emoticon]

LetThemEatCake · 28/01/2010 14:02

I didn't say that I bought it for the gym. It's an every day bag, with room for toddler paraphernalia. But since the OP mentioned travel, I thought it might be of interest.

So people will see me, and my scrummy cardigans and my scrummy bag. Stick that in yer jute carry bag

Well, I'm currently upgrading/replacing my bag collection.

I now have one handbag (all the others literally got used to death).

I have a beautiful weekend bag that's handles are on their last legs, so I'm trying to find replacement handles or a replacement bag.

Then, gym/schlep crap around in-between size bag. I bought the now-defunct gym bag in 2001, so I think it's due replacement. It's done its time.

LTEC - I was kind of considering one of the Longchamp bags (similar to the Calabrese).

Can the Calabrese hold lots of crap important things without breaking?

yes yes. Nice & sturdy. And bright! And very roomy.

no compartments though, which might be a pain, dep on what you're carrying. I tend to have pouches/ washbags etc in different designs and have dd's stuff in 1, ds1's stuff in another, ds3's in the other. And my stuff loose.

You'd get your MN 10% discount so would come in under £100. Good carry-on bag too, methinks

Francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2010 14:21

american apparel

fishie · 28/01/2010 14:21

i do like your bag ltec. i keep my netbook in a longchamp so am not exactly jute stylee.

shame uniqlo don't have theirs any more, it was really nice and had good long handles.

SerenityNowAKABleh · 28/01/2010 14:29

MN discount? Hm.

Nah, don't really need compartments.
