School aged boys in tights/long socks?

Would your son wear tights to school under his trousers or these (obviously not the pink ones though)

My boys wear tights for skiing/cold snowy days at home (and happily run around the chalet/hotel/house doing their best Superman impression once they have removed their salopettes ). However, school is a different prospect. They would wear those long socks though - they are 5 and 9.

I was thinking of getting these

My son wears thermal leggings under his trousers when its cold. So do I . We have them because we all ski or snowboard. You can get them quite cheaply from Aldi or TK
