Teal tights

I got some in the Monsoon sale cos people on here always seem to be on about their outfits with "a teal tight" in or summat. I thought, ooh look, maybe I can try and look modern! And they're only £3!

So I bought a couple of dozen few pairs.

The colour looked really nice in the packet.

But OMG when I got them home, and tried them on, they were eye poppingly bright!

It wasn't worth the effort of taking them back, but I thought I would ask the experts on here re how they are best worn (not perhaps for work, sadly).

I have those!I wear them with a grey dress and sometimes yellow suede mary janes!

i wear mine for work all the time and i work in the City (v v traditional). teal goes really nice with choc brown, of which i have two lovely work dresses so wear with those.

with my black and grey shifts i wear purple opaques.

go for it, i am always getting compliments from other ladies about my tights as it is very boring in the City so i do stand out a bit - which i rather love

I looooove mine. Wear mine with grey or brown, or with a denim mini or for a flash of colour between a knee length skirt and boots.

Do you think there is an age limit for wearing them though? And would you think they detract from one being taken seriously as a professional?

no on both counts.

i dress more professionally than any of my peers, i have always done so since the start of my career when i was told to only ever dress for the job above the one i had (if that makes sense). Since then i have always worn suits etc, of course this is no longer the done thing even in the traditional City. So i wear shift dresses and pencil skirts, never trousers, always look smarter and more professional than my immediate colleagues but then i like to have a very distinct "work wardobe" so like to wear much more professional looking outfits for work to distinguish from my "home" wardrobe I have found many of my colleagues mix it up a bit more and therefore more casual.

i believe i look very professional yet the flash of coloured tights give me a little more personality to the stark grey pencil dress - does that make sense?

I work in a very traditional and conservative environment and wear teal, purple and stripy tights.

Teal ones I wear with grey dress, purple with black or grey. It really brightens up an outfit and doesn't look outlandish in the slightest.
