Shoe boots

I have just bought a light grey pair(heeled) and tried them on with a blue dress and charcoal tights.I don't think it looked quite right.What do you think they go best with?
Does it have to be trousers/jeans?

shoe boots and dresses with tights can work really well it just depends on the style, could be that it looks odd because you're not used to it, could be that they don't work together.

Tomorrow I am wearing black jumper dress, thick grey tights and nearly black leather shoe boots, mine have a chunky heel and that looks fine but couldn't see the outfit working with a stilettoe type shoe boot.

skinny jeans usually look good if you are lucky enough to be able to carry them off and a thin heel looks better imo

They look really good with high waisted ankle length trousers- something like this
