If you have curly hair...

...can you have it really short?

I used to have the full pre-raphealite thing going on but for the last few years have had a short bob - you know, the bog standard thirties something, longer at the front, short at the back no fringe job, however I have always fancied going really short.

Would this be a mahoosive mistake with curly hair and a rather large nose? Is it at all feasible without a tonne of product?

I don't want to look like my mother.

Opinions please!

It didn't work for me, I ended up going shorter and shorter until it looked really dreadful and took months to grow out

Shortish bob is as short as I go these days and this is working wonders for me at the moment.

i have gone short, but it has to be literally and inch and a half long all over or it starts to do weird things. the growing out is then an ugly phase!

i wouldn't have short hair with a bit nose to be really blunt. I've had a strong g&t so i apologise. that's not to say that big noses aren't attractive. i think that all attractive people have symmetrical faces.

but short hair plus big nose is just non symbiotic combo!!! kind of like 3/4 length trousers on a short person (like me)

Thanks Maggie - I can take it! Tbh, I'm not sure of the nose is really that big, xH always used to joke about it but, as it turns out he is a twat so what does he know?

I suspect really short hair is not for me. In my minds eye I would be Audrey Hepburn, in reality things would be so very different.

Sigh.

Maggie - I must disagree, my Mum has slightly larger than button big nose and very short hair and it looks fantastic on her.

OP - I'd avoid a short cut on the basis of your hair type not nose size

Agree about the 3/4 length trousers

oh yes montifer, big button nose is the exclusion clause to the theory!. I was thinking of a big sticky out hooter.

It's just my opinion!! I don't mean it will make somebody look ugly, just that there would be a more flattering cut for them.

I have very thick and quite curly hair and had it cut very short, (and a big nose). Looked like Bill Clinton.

MaggieNilAonSneachta · 18/01/2010 16:16

is that the look you were after?!

Hullygully · 18/01/2010 17:28

Not quite..
