top

and again in the grid

Am totally prepared to be flamed in the "that's revolting" vein - fair enough - but if anyone has any constructive ideas that would be great too.

Have hitherto only ever worn with skinny jeans & towering heels.

would it tuck into high-waisted sailor-type trews or pencil skirt?

Cyb · 15/01/2010 20:36

LTEC you're so goddam on trend

I second skinny trews, dep on occasion, some sateen ones would be nice and dressy.

Moneyspider · 15/01/2010 20:39

you've probably already got this

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2010 20:41

it's kind of flare-y at the bottom. so not great for tucking - I don't need any extra bulk in that region!!

Cyb, no I didn't. I bought it in the sale when my sis was living in NYC, even cheaper at the time in US$ .. she was my mule

rubbish- there's more meat on a butcher's pencil than you...has to be skinny trews if really won't tuck.

upahill · 15/01/2010 20:54

Yes I would - In the summer when I've finally lost the 2 stone that I have been moaning about for the last year!! It's lovely!

eshermummy · 15/01/2010 20:55

I was going to suggest tucked into something high waisted too but had suspicion you were going to say too much material to tuck in....in which case I would wear with either

dark indigo wide leg or flared jeans with wedges for height

or ( I prefer) regular denim coloured boyfriend/slouchy/loose fit jeans and embellished/metallic falts/flip flop/sandally things

In either scenario would add cropped (ideally cashmere or silk) cardi (poss embellished with former trousers) in another jewel colour - teal or right shade of yellow/old gold, poss purple?

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2010 20:59

ooooh oooooh slouchy jeans and metallic sandally things!!

running upstairs to try while my kale cooks ... back in a flash ...

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2010 21:10

the really slouchy jeans didn't look right ... made it look a bit messy, too 'big all over'. But with regular 7 jeans, slightly bootcut, it looked good with the flats. Thanks! Now I can wear it without having to wait for a teeter-worthy occasion.

Thanks Moneyspider - I don't have that PS skirt but am flattered you think I might. Partly that it might actually suit me, but more that I'd have the panache to carry it off with the inevitable snot trails painty finger prints it'd sport within a wear or so

LTEC that top is gorgeous. You have amazingly good taste. Please continue to link to the items you purchase so we can drool over them

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2010 21:33

Zembo, honest i bought it ages ago. 2008, after I lost my baby weight from dc2. (hence it's been out of action for the last year - thanks, dc3 )

Just going through stuff in the spirit of the UIU thread. Trying to revive things where possible!!

BUt thank you for the compliment. FWIW, my dh hates that top - says I look like a present, or a box of chocolates (in a bad way)

Zembo · 15/01/2010 21:54

If I turned up wearing that top with skinny jeans and sky scraper heals my DH would be v impressed indeed < must try harder emoticon >

KristinaM · 15/01/2010 22:33

i think its lovely, fab colour

not sure of praticality of strapless bf bra though

you are just looking for an outfit to go with your jimmy choo metallic sandles, aren't you?

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2010 22:40

those Choos go with everything in my wardrobe, no fear of that

Kristina, am I right in thinking that you were looking for a maternity red carpet number last year? Film premiere?

OP posts:
KristinaM · 15/01/2010 22:45

nope, i was school reunion dress hunter, non pg but bf

I was the only granny there, AND had the youngest child ( of all the women) AND wore one of the shortest skirts [trollope]

bunnymother · 15/01/2010 22:57

I would prob style it like the picture - slim leg white trousers and some gold jewellery. Either heels or flats depending on the trousers.

Could you belt it? Am guessing not.

Agree that as voluminous number, rest of outfit needs to be slim/ skinny.

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2010 22:57

brilliant! love it.
