I had my eyebrows threaded this morning. Why has nobody ever told me how much it f*&%ing hurts?

It does hurt a bit doesn't it? I don't think it was worse than waxing though.

And the benefits after are great - very defined brows, and lasts longer than plucking and waxigng IME.

But I bet they look great though

30andLurking · 15/01/2010 13:36

it gets easier, trust me! And it looks sooooo gooooood.

My main problem is sneezing on the poor girl, for some reason it really tickles and sets me off!

God I miss living in a city sometimes

lambanana · 15/01/2010 13:41

I don't think the pain is bad. Certainly worth it because they look the business!

misshardbroom · 15/01/2010 13:43

yes, I have to say I have never had better eyebrows than this, and it was cheaporama.

It was a tiny Indian lady who did it, who kept telling me sternly 'No pain, no gain' as the tears came to my eyes....

It'll get better and its THE only way to shape eyebrows. Nothing else compares.

miche8 · 15/01/2010 14:16

i thought it hurt much less than waxing.....maybe it depends on how experienced the person doing it is? it felt like an elastic band being pinged against the skin. I react to waxing so its threading only for me....temped to go back and have the rest of the hair on my face removed once i have the baby....have become very hairy.

RoseWater · 15/01/2010 14:19

I didn't find it any more painful than waxing and was over and done with pretty quick - worst thing for me was that the only place I have found that does it is in the middle of a shopping centre so its not exactly discreet and then have to walk round with glowing red eyebrows after.

hellsbelles · 15/01/2010 19:36

Rose - I'm the same - the worst bit for me is walking round with a weird red rash afterwards.

I did it quite a lot (when I was going through a phase of trying to be better groomed) and it's worked so well I don't have to do them at all now. I think I had about 5 or 6 threadings...and my eyebrows were pretty thick and dark so I was very surprised they didn't grow back after the last time.

Having said that - perhaps worth ensuring you never go too thin when you get them done as you may not be able to grow them back (like me)...luckily mine were done in a style that I still like (hope I feel the same in a few years time!)
