Jeans recommendations please ...

After 5 years (!!) the knees in my beloved Seven's have finally given away ... so I need new jeans suitable for crawling around the floor after the children but which also look as good as my new Seven Roxanne's which I absolutely refuse to wear for said purpose .

Gap are absolutely no good. I can't get a pair to fit and if they fit on the waist they're baggy around the groin/top of leg. I've read quite a few recommendations for Top Shop - is there any style in particular which I should try on ... preferably a mid to high waist to hold my tummy in and either straight, skinny or a not to wide boot-cut. Anywhere other than Top Shop - don't really have that much confidence as last time I tried jeans on there, they did nothing for me.

Thanks!

Topshop baxters for skinny and marthas for straigt. Et voila - job done .

I also have roxannes and the ones above.

For expensive purposes I'm contemplating J Brand next time.

Thanks Tracey ... yes, have read about J Brand jeans, they look lovely. Have a lovely pair of James jeans which I got when DT's were about 6 months old ... what a mistake as they're too baggy on my thighs now .

Now, Top Shop, I think I'll order on-line. What's their sizing like? I think my Roxanne's are a 26 or 27" waist ... should I order the same size or go up one?

Thanks!

I'm a 26 in roxannes and have just ordered the same in baxters. Was a size 10 in them but am hoping am now an 8. I would say baxters come up a little smaller than 7's but not much.

Marthas come up a bit bigger.

Thanks Tracey. Shall order now.

Top Shop Baxters are great. Although much loved on here the Marthas don't do much for me. Am size 8 also but only 5ft 1

Thanks Zembo ... I find jeans so difficult to buy and am being really lazy ordering on-line. Am trying to gather energy to go double-check sizes upstairs before ordering. Yawn

I ordered my top shop ones on line - good, fast service - ordered a few and returned the non-keepers to a store.

I have got expensive jeans and tried cheap jeans.

My favourite out of all the ones i have worn are Red Herring Skinny or Skinny boot cut, however, the ones i wear are low rise, but they do high rise too. I have skinny legs straight down and widish hips, they also do short, standard and long length. I have always found they fit me perfectly in all the right places, have a variety of styles, light, dark or black (or funky faded), and last a lot of wear (i have a toddler, and now a newborn, spend a lot of time playing in them with toddler).

I am wearing a pair now, love them so they have had a lot of washes since i bought them just after giving birth (they made my figure look fab!) and can't wear anything else as they fit so well!
