Ok you lot keep talking about these Fly boots so i had better get some, do i go for the Mol (knee high) or Mes (mid-calf)? can't decide will be ordering online.

I'm 30 a size 14/16 apple shaped normally and will have just had a baby in 3wks time, i'm 5'6 if that matters and i dress casually all the time, never skirts, have a jumper dress and some tunics that i wear with leggings/skinny jeans. My legs are quite slim.

Please advise me.

I'm a Mes girl myself [twirls]

NorkilyChallenged · 14/01/2010 16:58

I cannot answer this question as it took me roughly 5 months to decide. In fact, the unworn pair of Mes that I bought at the same time as my Mols are still sitting upstairs awaiting return to the online shop I bought them from.

I chose the Mol in the end. Though I really could have gone either way.

Am 5'6 too.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 14/01/2010 17:01

I have Mes

flowerybeanbag · 14/01/2010 17:05

I love my Mols, bought cheap following threads on here. I wear them all the time.

Mimi1977 · 14/01/2010 19:28

I have mols and I love them. I always find calf length boots look funny on me and make my legs look shorter although I am 5.8 so not short. If you are wearing them over jeans I'd go Mol but for under them Mes. If you want to do both I'd go for the taller ones. HAving said that one of my friends has Mes and they really suit her. Think maybe the shorter ones are more trendy and the taller ones worn by people who like to play it a bit safer (which is me definately!)

SofaKingFedUpOfSnow · 14/01/2010 19:39

I'm a mes girl.

I'm 5'2" and the mols were like over knee boots on me!

NorbertDentressangle · 14/01/2010 19:43

I love my Mols .

One thing I would say though is that they are a slim fit so no good if you are chunky of calf.

Montifer · 14/01/2010 19:46

Am I correct in thinking Fly boots are for those lucky slim calved types?

DecorHate · 14/01/2010 19:46

Where did you get hours flowery? I am tempted ny reports of their durability but they are a lot more than I would normally pay when full-price

flowerybeanbag · 14/01/2010 20:06

They are fairly slim-cut yes. I can get them on ok but absolutely no chance of squeezing jeans into them or anything.

DecorHate I got them from Office for £40, see thread here and then here

Cranreuch · 14/01/2010 20:26

I wear the mols, with skinny jeans, leggings, tights and thermals - not all at once! I got the £40 Office brown mols, they are fine for that price, but I find them not great in wet weather - lots of leakage. I have waterproofed them 3 times now, so they might be better, but they are a fashion boot.

DecorHate · 15/01/2010 07:22

Ah they are no good to me if they leak like that!

Cranreuch · 15/01/2010 17:12

Decor, I don't think everyone has the same trouble, maybe that is why the rugged mol boots were so heavily discounted?

I do live in the countryside in Scotland, so they might be okay for city living.

stillfrazzled · 15/01/2010 18:47

I love my black rugged Mols, but can I ask some advice from you Mol owners?

The rugged leather's looking pretty awful after weeks of snow and ice and grit - can I use normal shoe polish? If not, what?

NorkilyChallenged · 15/01/2010 19:24

Stillfrazzled - I have the same question (except mine are the dark brown). I worry that normal shoe polish might make them shiny whereas obviously normally there is no shininess to be found.
