can you shrink jeans down one size

I have recently lost a stone and now all my jeans are too big which is of course fab but I have no cash to buy any more with for the foreseeable future

unfortunately most couldn't be ebayed either cos I'm short and tread on the back of them quite a bit

If I put these in a boil wash would this shrink them slightly or just completely ruin them?

ime denim can take being washed at 90 so you have nothing to lose but I doubt you would get them to shrink enough.Also they will shrink in length too so may be too short after.
