I use no 7 facial products..and my skin is silky smooth..i do everything, cleansing, toning, beauty serum and them moisturiser.

The problem i have is when i put on foundation my nose looks all dried up and hairy..but it isn't hairy iykwim

I have tried no 7 protect and perfect..the mousse one..and advanced intelligent foundation. I think i need to try another brand. Any ideas/recommendations?

Clinique Superfit foundation

It is pricier than No.7 but a little goes a very long way

Apply it with a foundation brush

Don't put powder on top - save it for later in the day if you get shiny

You will look GORGEOUS

vitalumiere...told about it on here
sneered
tried it

now perfect skin...it's amazing
3 of my friends have also now purchased due to my flawless mush

clinique better for oily/younger skins imho

Clinique SuperBalanced Foundation - but I discovered an extra super secret at Xmas - Put on Clarins Beauty Flash Balm first. Thin layer on face neck and clevage - don't rub in and follow with the Clinique foundation straight away - flawless!

I am actually starting to wonder if the Clarins stuff would make any foundation look good, but have yet to try it out.

Clarins tinted moisturiser

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 13/01/2010 22:00

Have tried loads - Elizabeth Arden, Clinique etc but Benefit - "Some kind of gorgeous" - is really easy to apply and works on dry skin - also use a primer/face perfector first - acts like polyfilla, which is great for me .
Interested in vitalumiere though, sounds like a miracle.

brimfull · 13/01/2010 22:03

ronaldinhio -what brand is perfect skin?

Ronaldinhio · 13/01/2010 22:58

sorry, I meant vitalumiere = perfect flawless skin

brimfull · 13/01/2010 23:00

aah
vitalumiere slides off my face

JetLi · 13/01/2010 23:24

I like Bare Escentuals mineral make-up here - buy from QVC and then if you hate it, you can send it back within 30 days and get a refund.

Ronaldinhio · 13/01/2010 23:52

ggirl ver jealous of your oilier skin...

RamblingRosa · 14/01/2010 09:34

I recommend mineral make up too. Lily lolo cheaper than bare escentuals.

I used to do only posh foundations (Chanel, Lancome, Clarins, Bobbi Brown) but kept on having all sorts of skin problems like flaky patches, spots etc. Discovered mineral make up and now my skin's pretty flawless most of the time (still get the odd spot when pre-menstrual).

GeneHuntsMistress · 14/01/2010 10:10

totally with Ronaldinhio on the vitalumiere with the exception (please note ggirl)that i have the oiliest t-zone so i wwear MATTlumiere. it is amazing gives me a wonderfully glowing dewy complexion but without a shiny nose.

also recommend f0undation brush which has added bonus of necessitating less foundation so it goes even further.

GeneHuntsMistress · 14/01/2010 10:12

soz re: typos, should really preview shouldn't i.

Clarins Instant Smooth in dippy pot. Love it, am evangelical about it, have sworn never to faff about with the Lauder liquids etc again.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 14/01/2010 16:08

If you've got flawless skin then you don't really need foundation though. A decent tinted moisturiser should be enough. Why gild the lilly?

For a cheaper brand I use MaxFactor Flawless Perfection 2-in-1 with the primer on one side and the liquid foundation on the other. I always get flawless results and it never makes me look shiny or give me dry patches. You could try a moiustriser on your nose first and wait a few minutes for that to be absorbed before applying the make-up.

brimfull · 18/01/2010 01:58

Bucharest-I got a sample of clarins instnat touch and I have ot say it is amazing. Like a primer and foundation in one , and you need a teeny amount.

brimfull · 18/01/2010 01:59

meant instant smooth foubdation

LoveMyGirls · 18/01/2010 07:15

Double wear by estee lauder

Chandon · 18/01/2010 08:07

if your skin is silky smooth, do NOT wear foundation, but let your skin breathe instead.

purplepeony · 18/01/2010 09:30

Def. suggest you go to a Clinique counter and try out- they have about 8 different types and a good range of colours.

Evidently their SuperBalanced is one of the best selling of all time and the other one which gets a mention here by someone- it's more like a tinted moisturiser.

purplepeony · 18/01/2010 09:30

Chandon make up doesn't stop your skin breathing- it can actually protect it from pollution and UV rays.

GetOrfMoiLand · 18/01/2010 09:38

Try a primer - the Loreal Professionals one is excellent, is about £12. It smooths out all fine wrinkles and creates a perfect base for foundation.

The texture of Vitalumiere is wonderful, however Chanel salesgirl wouldn't sell me it as my skin is too pinky, the Chanel foundations are rather yellowish. If you have pinky english rose type skin, something similar to Vitalumiere is Lancome Photogenic Luminescence. Think is about £26.

If you fancy a treat go to Space NK and have a look at Laura Mercier, Chantecaille and By Terry ranges, however they can be rather pricey. Space NK girls very helpful also, they will give you great tips on application.

Those of you who love Estaee Lauder Double Wear - how do you put it on without it looking like a mask? I tried this and it was like putting PVA glue on my face, could not get to grips with it at all.

Cabatach · 18/01/2010 20:39

I have just started using Maybelline Dream Creamy Foundation with Clarins Beauty Flash Balm underneath. Really impressed - my hairdresser commented on how fresh faced I was looking! I normally use Bare Minerals but my skin was literally cracking in the cold weather/central heating.

kdk · 18/01/2010 22:25

I love Clarins instant smooth foundation which goes on beautifully and looks fantastic but it is pricey and I am going to have to find something cheaper
