Have been using No.7 for a while, DH bought me some Clarins for Christmas. The Clarins is much better than the No.7, but still not perfect.

My eyelashes are quite long but also v.straight so a curling one would be good.

DIB has recommended Maybellin yellow tube on the 'perky' thread - any others that are worth a look?

Hmm - many recommendations! Naively I was hoping that one would stand out as the favourite.

I hear you all about the eyelash curling, but I'm crap at it and my eyelashes don't actually hold the curl. If I squeeze harder they have an attractive 90 degree bend in them . I am scared of the heated ones - are they hot enough to burn your eye??

I have an 18 month old so there is no time in my life for false eyelash putting-on!

I always buy hypnose drama but want a change. I bought that new hynose one but it's just the same as normal hypnose on me. I have a mini elizabeth arden on the go which is good for daytime wear.

(I mean I always but hypnose but have bought that drama one and it's the same)

use hairdryer to heat metal eyelash curlers

try the shu uemura metal curler as it seems to be the one that doesn't eat your eyelids

L'oreal lash architect - great for picking off your eyelashes at night too

Hypnose good but it only seems to last a few weeks and pretty £££

Ali I was just about to start a mascara thread! I too am looking the holy grail of mascara since my fave Estee Lauder illusionist waterproof one was discontinued. I have short straight lashes which i curl with eyelash curlers (after blasting the curler with a hairdryer). The Estee Lauder one used to hold the curl really well all day.

Since then, I have tried YSL, other Estee Lauder ones, Benefit, Dior Show and none of them will hold the curl. In Fact, as soon as the mascara goes on, it makes my lashes droop and straight again!!!

From looking online at reviews (make up alley) i'm going shopping tomorrow to look at either the Chanel drama lash or multi dimensional;or Lancome hypnose (all waterproof versions as they apparently set and hold the curl better than non waterproof ones). Will let you know the outcome...
