Dunno but I once sold some beautiful black cords from Whistles for 99p. They were a little bit short so I never wore them

staggerlee · 12/01/2010 15:30

I must be lucky as I've bagged a lot of All Saints clothes/ Irregular Choice shoes for an absolute bargain.

However I also bought a fake fur and gold plastic handbag-why oh why I still don't know!

notasize10yetbutoneday · 12/01/2010 15:34

My best buy was a new with tags coast dress for £19. The seller hadnt listed it as coast in the title so people hadn't bid up to silly amounts as they usually do on coast things. Its a gorgeous dress and Ive worn it loads.

Ive bought loads really, never had a disaster as such- a Next dress I bought thinking it was a sort of gold colour was actually mustard but I just put it on ebay myself and made my money back!

Got loads of nice corsets from there too- always get compliments when I was thin enough to wear them.

My tip is to buy stuff where you know what size you are- ie I know im a size 12 from coast but ive never had anything from karen millen so i wouldnt bid on a karen millen dress in case it didnt fit.

My recent best buy was make believe fake tan 200ml used once for £3.68, in shops for £20 :-)

I think clothes in general are a bad idea...saying that the Black leather biker boots I got on there about 2 1/2 years ago are still eliciting gasps of admiration from passers by

GeorginaWorsley · 12/01/2010 18:56

I buy lots of clothes off ebay.
White Stuff sells very well plus lots of new/last seasons stuff for a fraction of the price.
Have got Avoca knitwear, usually retails around £90,for £10.
Also a black phasre eight silk camisole for a fiver or thereabouts,BNWT.
Am on use it up thread though so am resisting atm!

I bought a pair of virtually new knee-length black Camper boots for £40 last year. Fab and bargainous.

Agree re White Stuff selling well -- a recent item in good condition can go for £30+, and sometimes they go for only a few quid below the original new price.

Boden stuff also goes for stupid amounts.

LaurieFairyCake · 12/01/2010 19:06

The shit -
a black 100% brand new cashmere ballet wrap cardigan from Limited Edition at M&S - tis gorgeous but doesn't go round my norks - size L but really only a 16. Thought I was safe with M&S.

About 6 pairs of Gina shoes which I don't wear as all too high for me

PhaseolusLunatus · 12/01/2010 19:15

If you know the brand and know your size, it's hard to go wrong. The key is to search very specifically. I have had the most amazing things for really very little. But I am trying to give it up, too

GeorginaWorsley · 12/01/2010 19:20

waving at Phaseolus!>
Fancy seeing you here!

PhaseolusLunatus · 12/01/2010 19:32

Urgent whisper to GW: I have never even seen Avoca... Would it be a mistake to do so now?

GeorginaWorsley · 12/01/2010 19:49

Yes! Sold in boutiques along with Noa Noa,Sandwich,Nougat etc.#Very pretty upmarket Irish brand.(swoon)
Keep Away

PhaseolusLunatus · 12/01/2010 20:25

I see... I will not google

alliscalm · 12/01/2010 21:05

Frogs, you are right about Boden. Earlier today bids on a tunic I've been thinking about buying were already higher than the Boden sale price.
