please don't

EdgarAleNPie · 09/01/2010 13:04

eww noddy i think you'd have to consider your lady area a thing worth displaying in detail to wear those

i love bootcut, when i finally stop being pregnant, i may get another pair. until then...

TheBolter · 09/01/2010 13:12

I wear skinny, wide leg, flare and bootcut.

So long as the flatter me and are long enough in the leg (unlike those monstrosities that noddy displays above (my eyes!).

I know what you mean about bootcuts looking a little mumsy but it also depends on the style and shape of them.

For example I've just bought a pair of these which look great with a pair of wedge heels and a sequinned vest. OK I may not look as if I've tumbled out of Cosmo Girl but I think I look pretty hot and unmumsy in them.

Or perhaps I am deluded...

noddyholder · 09/01/2010 13:23

Those don't look mumsy!I love a loose long jean with heels

TheBolter · 09/01/2010 13:34

Phew, thanks Noddy!!

Ladies, ladies. Its all about jeggings now. Finally a jean with an elasticated waist that you can sit down in after you've eaten. Why would you not embrace this trend? They smooth down the muffin top and they tuck into boots without getting all bunched up round your ankles. Must wear with a baggy top unless stick thin and they are cheaper than normal jeans. I'm a size 16/18 with pronounced mummy tummy and I find them just the job.

dexter73 · 09/01/2010 14:18

I think jeggings look really unflattering on most people.

noddyholder · 09/01/2010 14:25

I do love my jeggings they are just like v tight jeans and they are perfect for boots.I also like zara jeans from the teenage bit The size large is a 12-14 but the cut is v good they are skinny but not legging tight

traceybath · 09/01/2010 14:38

I agree with custardo that bootcut/wideleg jeans are unflattering if you're short.

I don't personally wear bootcut as skinnies/straight leg suit me more.

But bootcut not necessarily mumsy provided they are long enough.

Drop crotch jeans are the 'latest' shape according to InStyle - yeah right!

Prefer BC. I look so wrong in jeggings. Only if I'm wearing a long or very layered long-enough top and bloody wellies does the rest of me look in proportion. Even when nekkid I never look as bad as when in jeggings!

thedollshouse · 09/01/2010 14:49

They might be "out" but everyone is still wearing them. After I have had my baby and lost all the flab I might try another style but for now bootcut are the safest option. I know some young trendy twenty-somethings and they still wear bootcut so I don't think they are a complete no-no.

GrimmaTheNome · 09/01/2010 17:11

Skinnies and jeggings are total no-no if you have thighs. Or calves.

I carry most of my excess weight on my legs and bootcuts cover a multitude of sins better than anything else.
