Baby/toddler snowsuit - help!

ThisIsMyDanceSpace · 08/01/2010 20:21

My massive 8 month old DD has sprouted out of her snowsuit. It was -10 today and it wouldn't fasten at the nappy!
She needs 12-18 months and quite quickly since it's real brass monkey weather here in Scotland so high street would be better than internet! Any ideas where I could reliably get one? Tried all the usual places and everything seems to be sold out.

I've been looking on line for the same size and found a red one in 12-18 months in debenhams, Marks and spencers had an autograph one in 12-18 but again on line so I am not much use....

Beasknees · 08/01/2010 20:31

Primark ?

PDR · 08/01/2010 20:35

Next?

Order before 5pm and they deliver the next day.

ThisIsMyDanceSpace · 08/01/2010 20:35

Annoyingly, I saw that Autograph one last week before I knew DD2 had sprouted out of her current one. I'll try M&S tomorrow and there's a Primark nearby so I'll have a look too. Thank you.
Any other ideas in case everyone else in the West of Scotland is out buying snowsuits?

an ebayer might be able to send you one really quick. I have a new boden blue star one I was going to sell on there before christmas but didn't get round to it. I bought it before my son was born then was given one in the same size.

PavlovtheCat · 08/01/2010 20:37

ebay? you will have to wait, but before bidding you could ask the seller to post asap and check when that would be? I have done this before and got the item the next day...

ThisIsMyDanceSpace · 08/01/2010 20:37

Next website aren't showing any but speedy delivery would be good so I'll have another look. Do you have to have a Next Account to order or can you pay on Switch/Credit card?

This one looks toasty but again, online. Have bought from them before and delivery was fairly quick.

PavlovtheCat · 08/01/2010 20:38

x-posts Bonjour

ThisIsMyDanceSpace · 08/01/2010 20:38

Bonjour - what size is yours?

shoulditakethisjob · 08/01/2010 20:39

I got one in that size from sainsburys, they stil lhad them at the weekend, not sure about now.

ThisIsMyDanceSpace · 08/01/2010 20:41

There's a Sainsbury's near Marks and Primark so can try there too tomorrow - thanks - I didn't think of there.

plantsitter · 08/01/2010 20:45

I got one at Sainsbury's too. Sadly DD looks like a 1970s old Russian lady in it, but it is very warm and cosy.

Sexonlegs · 08/01/2010 20:45

Hi there. I have one that says 12 months on it; I bought it second hand from ebay and my dd2 wore it when she was 10 months old.

I put it in bag today to take to charity, but will happily send it to you.

Let me know.

BonjourIvressedeNoel · 08/01/2010 20:50

Its 6-12 month. Its bigger than the one I'm using but not big enough to fit next year, as my son will be nearly 2. It has detachable feet, and as i said I've never used it, as DS had to seen out in the other one, as we see the person who gave it to us most days.

ThisIsMyDanceSpace · 08/01/2010 20:50

That's so kind of you Sexonlegs. DD2 is massive; the same size as her 17 month old cousin. If the snowsuit is a generous 12 month size then I would love to buy it from you.

OP posts:
PDR · 08/01/2010 20:53

I have an account and not sure if they let you buy a one off and just pay by card?

If not you can order to be delivered in store to collect the next day.

JoJo have lovely fleece snowsuits which I love and they do express delivery with DHL but I know you wanted to get one asap!

Feelingforty · 08/01/2010 20:56

Hi, I've got a red next one I was going to ebay for £8 (+postage at cost) (that's how much I've sold my last 2 for)
It's 12-18 mths & a good size. If you're interested I'll dig it out tomorrow.

Waswondering - I got her current one there and it's lovely and cosy but the TKMaxx near me don't have any more.
FeelingForty - that sounds fab. How can I pay you?
PDR - Tried that! They don't have her size.
Bonjour - She's got Boden trousers in 6-12 months that she's almost out of so better not to chance it. Thanks though.

Sounds like FeelingForty has come up with the best option.

I will happily send you ours for free if you want it - seeing as I was just going to give it to charity.

Feelingforty · 08/01/2010 21:15

Hi, paypal is fine & quickest i think ? Let me dig it out & then contact you tomorrow, will that be ok ? (how shall I contact you ?)

ThisIsMyDanceSpace · 08/01/2010 21:16

Yes, thanks, FellingForty. It's extremely kind of you to offer. Her current one isn 9-12 months. Worried that "Attack of the 50 feet Baby" might burst out the crotch of yours too!

MisSalLaneous · 08/01/2010 21:17

Got a lovely one for ds from Decathlon - any around you?

Feelingforty · 08/01/2010 21:20

My Dd, although petite, wore it at age 2 !
Should be fine - happy to measure it. Otherwise I have some red salopettes from Gap which are super cosy. DD1 wore them a for a weeks skiing hols (although she didn't ski) age 20mths. They are fleece lined dungaree type. I'm into warm clothes so tend to have too much.
