as i read that red eyeshadow is coming in, but the it seems really expensive. using face paint would probably create just the same look but £££ cheaper.

would you do it?

No. And I wouldn't wear red eyeshadow, even if it was free!

Somebody once told me that they used to use Caran Dache watercolour pencils as eyeshadow.

southeastastra · 07/01/2010 20:11

that would run surely

have you been drinking, southeastastra?

KristinaM · 07/01/2010 21:01

BTW janeite, i thought you were a solicitor / accountant type person Confused

JaneiteIsAWimpyTeacher · 07/01/2010 22:43

Me? Whatever gave you that idea?
Have been a teacher for more years than I care to mention. In fact, I am one of those terrible people who went into teaching straight from uni - and we all know how clueless THEY are.

Southeast - have you tried the facepaint yet?

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 07/01/2010 22:48

I asked someone in Mac about red eyeshadow fairly recently - there's something about the red pigment in powder that makes it bad for your eyes. I've never seen deep red eyeshadow.

She said red eyeliner was OK because it was liquid.

use blusher. Or for a really striking effect, lipstick

KristinaM · 08/01/2010 14:42

janeite - i think its from your threads about workwear - you must be an extremely smartly dressed teacher

i have lots of children so am full of admiration for anyone who copes with the little buggers darlings all day AND manages to educate them too. I would not and could not do your job

JaneiteIsAWimpyTeacher · 08/01/2010 17:15

Thank you so much. In my head, I'm quite smart. In reality, I mostly have ink all over me and my ponytail tumbling down; quite possibly, my 'slip' showing too!

I work with the 'big buggers' - love em!

Southeast - I do wish you'd try it and post pics: could be very striking or quite terrifying.

Cybils · 08/01/2010 17:21

contracting conjunctivitis would have the same effect

Pennies · 08/01/2010 17:22

Surely red eyeshadow would just make it look like you'd got an infection. Or maybe that you've been crying for hours? Sounds horrible.
