Opinions on Smythson 'Nancy'

I didn't know they 'did' sales! Oddly though, the diaries don't seem to be in the sale.

well, yes, it is nice- but almost £500 for a bag?

Don't have a Smythson handbag but I do have one of their Bond Street Diary/Filofax things. Absolutely gorgeous and looks great despite being 6 years old now.

It is lovely, but not in the white.
Isn't the Nancy designed by Sam Cam (her daughter's called Nancy)?
A shop near me has lovely bags with v similar details - thought they were smythson but were by Lara Bohinc - sadly, no less expensive but same kind of look.

oh and their packaging/wrapping is divine Each year DH buys me a refill for my diary and gets in properly boxed and wrapped in the store. I get the entire package - bag too - all wrapped up in Christmas paper

As an armchair posho bag connoisseur (I like looking at them but don't buy them!) I've never really "got" the Nancy - it just looks to me like a granny bag you might find in oxfam.

Think for that money there are nicer bags out there like me new east west bayswater . And I know you like a bit of mulberry.

Plus, I have vowed only to shop online in the vain hope this may curb my habit (as Mulberry outlet not available online). I have to say though, browsing the Smythson website is probably not a very good place for me to start!

Yes! Quite similar to the Nancy. I like the clasp.

they stock 'em in a shop round the corner from me but don't think they ever go into the sales but you have reminded me that I must pop in and see what's left.

Last Jan I picked up this botkier for £140 and have had so much use out of it all year.
