Just read about these on India Knights blog (big thank you to the MNer who introduced me to it)

Hello Skinnyjeans, my topshop baxters keep slipping down, they look good but drive me crazy. Might be inclined to give these a try.

I like the look of the Barely Bootcut.

LetThemEatCake · 06/01/2010 13:44

mental note to return to this thread after dentist ...

bishboschone · 06/01/2010 15:50

do u think they work? they are £160 !!

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/01/2010 15:54

You want to wear Spanx Jeans?

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 06/01/2010 15:59

I read that CK are doing a 'butt lifting' jean also - can't remember the price.
They do look pretty good.

I love the idea of these!

(And ditto the comment on the TS baxters.....)

VerityBrulee · 06/01/2010 19:29

Well, now that I have rid myself of the seemingly hundreds of children who were here today because their parents were back at work and I am a SAHM, I am sitting here with a large bar of Green & Blacks perusing the facts about these jeans.

[[http://www.skinnyjeans.com/html/compare.html These photos seem pretty convincing to me.

try again

Hmmm the photographs are 'cleverly done'

Katisha · 06/01/2010 19:39

I want to see photos of a size 16 before I spend any money...

hellsbelles · 06/01/2010 19:45

they do look very tempting...but appear to have sold out of every single version in my size

Also I'm wondering how comfortable they are? Jeans are supposed to be comfortable after all and spanx (which these effectively are) are not (well not for me anyway).

VerityBrulee · 06/01/2010 19:54

I think I'd really want to try them on before I spent all that cash on them. I'm not a great jeans wearer, maybe a couple of times a week, so I've never bought expensive ones.

I'll consider them though.

hellsbelles · 06/01/2010 19:58

Is my maths screwed or does it work out much cheaper to order direct from the US (delivery to UK is $30)....here

so $208 (for the skinny black ones) would be approx £129 I think. Still expensive but a bit better (and they appear to have more stock).

nancy75 · 06/01/2010 20:02

interesting that they only do tiny sizes - a 25 is about a 6 and the largest i saw was a 34 which is a small 16. you don't need help if you're a size 6!

princessmel · 06/01/2010 20:05

The model in the pics doesn't really look bad in ANY off the non-hello jeans. Maybe 1 or 2 pairs. You need to see pictures of real people wearing them and regular jeans imo.

VerityBrulee · 06/01/2010 20:06

Oooo, they have cords on the US site, I love cords.

I saw a woman at the park in a fab pair of cords last summer, they were a fantastic pale pink, I still can't understand why I didn't ask her where they came from.

Things from the states always work out cheaper IME even with the shipping cost.

I am tempted to get out the measuring tape to work out which size I need.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 06/01/2010 21:55

oh ffs of course the skinny jeans look better in the photos, the model is standing differently, they are the right length and probably the right size. CON!

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 06/01/2010 21:56

and a darker shade...

VerityBrulee · 06/01/2010 22:05

O Libra, so cynical

OP posts:
Katisha · 06/01/2010 22:13

It's true though - the "other jeans" are all a dodgy length worn with comedy shoes in a comedy stance...

fishie · 06/01/2010 22:22

verity if your jeans are falling off then try a belt or another style.

uniqlo have some nice skinny cords

DreamsInBinary · 06/01/2010 22:23

The model is squatting in the non-advertised jeans.

Having said that, I am tempted...

TheChristmasHour · 07/01/2010 12:36

Well, if they work they are FUCKING Amazing! They will revolutionise the world and maybe put weight watchers into insolvency ! Before and after shots look like model has lost about 1 to 1 and a half stone from lower body between pictures. I would LOVE these jeans to be the real deal but I just can't see how they could work? Everything we know about suck it in underwear tells us that the fat just sticks out somewhere else (muffin top usually).

Please someone order these jeans and tell us if they work!

MissWooWoo · 07/01/2010 13:51

OMG!!! India Knight has a blog?!

I whizzed through her book "The Shops" on boxing day and it was a sad moment indeed when I finished it. Ahhhh bliss, a blog!

VerityBrulee · 07/01/2010 14:53

That's what I want too ChristmasHour, someone else to try them out first

No takers??

MissWooWoo, it is a fab blog and one of the many, many things I would know nothing about were it not for MN
