Warm alternative to wellies for toddler boys?

DS loves going out in this weather (brrrr) but his feet get really cold.

I went to the local outdoor gear shop and they didn't have thick woolly socks in a size small enough for him (he's 2.5yo, shoe size 6).

So I wondered if anyone can recommend a warm boot I could get him instead of wellies - something Ugg style would be ok-ish in my book but think my DH would think it too weird.

Is there anything out there??

My DCs have snow boots from Muddy Puddles. They are fleece lined and very cosy (even keep their feet warm on ski trips......altho don't actually ski in them )

my dd has some aussie soles, i got them from a country show but if you google it they come up, they are wellie shaped on the outside but fleece lined. i paid about £23 i think but they are good, she has had 2 pairs and they come in allsorts of colours but i have always ended up with brown for some reason
