Have you found anything nice on line?

I think Monsoon top is stunning... teamed perhaps with the Boden silver gladiator sandals. Jeans shorts, perhaps, to complete?

dd will mostly be wearing the contents of the enormous ebay / charity shop / JL sale bag my lovely mother delivered just before Christmas, so, once again, cotton sundresses and pinafores over basic supermarket tshirts with or without a cardigan.

However I must confess I have developed a weakness for the (unbranded) Joules stuff now dd fits their age 2-3 things...

Yes, well, DD's wardrobe gets happily recycled among a lot of little cousins so my guilt is assuaged!

I must confess I am on the lookout for some sandals with a tad more style than the inevitable pink Clarks shockers but that can still take a kicking dunking mudbath hard wear...

I found the Boden Birkenstock-alikes from last summer very versatile and robust, but they haven't done the strappy version (which would suit your younger DD) this year, only the toe-thong version (and not in gold, which was a real stunner last year).

DD usually has a pair of Supergas for summer, which are cute with little girl skirts/shorts. And they go in the washing machine and protect tiny toes on the climbing frame.

But wait - Start-Rite did some lovely sandals in their English classics collection last summer.

Here. Colours are crap, but wait a couple of months and they'll get better...

DD has quite a lot from Monsoon, but we go more for the hippy vibe.

And will your DD really wear toe posts? Mine would run a mile. Or rather refuse to take a step. She tends to wear Papillio (birkenstock) sandals (wide feet [hmmm])

DD had her first Havaianas at 20 months - the ones with a little elasticated strap around the heel. She is now completely OK with toe-thong sandals - she could run pretty fast in last years Boden fake Birkies.

Practise...

But I'm not mad on them myself. Seems a little harsh.

Perhaps I should practise...

...and I fear those startrite ones would expire at first dip in the mud, but some of their non-english-classics look sturdier - these in red patent, for example

I love those gladiator sandals though but suddenly remembered I got some silver Birkie-likes from White Company in the sale last year for her.

She will be better dressed than me this S/S at this rate!

The Boden boat neck tops are great - DD had two in plain white (school dress code oblige) last summer, but the stripy ones are lovely.

My DD is always better dressed than me - her clothes are so much cheaper!!!
