SleighGirl · 02/01/2010 21:41

mine cycles everywhere too, won't drive a car.

mumhadenough · 02/01/2010 21:42

My dh wears shorts constantly (in house) but if bin needs put out or need something from the shop etc he nips out like that.

He was out clearing the snow/ice from the path today in his shorts.

NorbertDentressAngel · 02/01/2010 21:46

There are a few posties around here who seem to wear shorts all year round -what is it about postmen and shorts? Do they get a bonus for wearing them 52weeks of the year or something?

Also a Dad in the playground (but at least he swapped the flip-flops for boots in Nov/Dec)

Heated · 02/01/2010 21:46

Dh wears shorts and doesn't feel the cold. Is in jeans and t shirt today whilst I'm MNing in long-sleeved top, cardi and scarf!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 02/01/2010 21:48

I have seen a lot of shorts recently too.

But.... it's teenage boys/young lads in t-shirts with gloves and scarves that get me.

SleighGirl · 02/01/2010 21:48

thermal vest - check
cashmere jumper - check
cardigan - check
Fleece blanket folded in 4 - check
Cat - check

well that's me

Dh - shorts and T-shirt

paisleyleaf · 02/01/2010 21:55

There's an Italian bloke down the road from me, he used to look really slick. Even he's to be seen out in shorts now - looks like he just plays xbox all day.

Pekkala · 02/01/2010 22:07

I was picking up stuff from the Post Office today and there was a chap (~mid 40s) picking his post up wearing shorts and flip flops. Flip flops! Bare feet! January! Madness! (Oh god I have turned into my mother.)

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 02/01/2010 22:08

my brother generally wears shorts from March-October

When I was at uni, all the boys who thought they were cool wore short-sleeved polo shirts (generally pink, with collars turned up), shorts and flip flops well into January. That's Durham University idiots for you.

minicorrect · 02/01/2010 23:58

Lol. Was at baby clinic and newish mum and dad come in; him in shorts and flip flops. This was 2 weeks ago.

I just don't get why posh boys think it's de rigeur to dress that way but he did strike me as red brick uni grad...

Wastwinsetandpearls · 03/01/2010 00:00

We went out for a meal tonight and someone walked in wearing long shorts, it was minus 4 outside.

brimfull · 03/01/2010 00:04

So it is a new phenomena isn't it?
