Please choose tinted moisturiser for me

I have, for one time only, £100 to spend at John Lewis

So I am manfully resisting buying clothes for the dds.

I am dark - redheaded, white skinned, pale thin lipped, a bit freckly, and looking exceptionally crap on the school run. Like all pale faces, my skin is thin and papery and doesn't hold make up well, although it is in good nick overall. I'm 34.

Now, despite the above colouring, with berry blusher and lashings of black mascara, and berry/natural colour lips I can do the whole winter Irish belle look in my head OK.

I am bored though, and want to have the hair lightened, and get some tinted moisturiser to make me look less dead tired. I don't need foundation and it ages me and makes my face crepey. I find eye shadow the same tbh. I think mascara, eye liner, blusher and lip sis the way to go for me.

So can you all please select one from the following. I can't raelly test them as we have no such store where I am, and limited choice in the town
All wisdom warmly accepted.

I've only used the Clarins one and think it's great, it gives a nice healthy tone to my pale Scottish skin, especially at this time of year.

I'd go for the Laura Mercier Illuminated tinted. But you need to test - if you buy online and it's no good that's a lot of money wasted.

I know I can't though, the nearest city is 50 miles and I don't think they have anywhere that stocks Laura Mercier etc. It's a pita!

If you are prepared to go "off list" and actually go to John Lewis, I'd really recommend an Estee Lauder one. It comes out of the tube thing a sort grey/blue colour but it suits everyone and just adjusts to your skin colour+, if you see what I mean.

It's great. If you want me to check, I'll nip upstairs and see what it's called.

I could test the Carins though. Any tips on shade YourCall?

Nearest John Lewis is blooming £48 on the train Belle. Would love to go and have a lovely spending spree.

I am 39, pale and freckly, and I have used the Bobbi Brown (black tube) and the Laura Mercier (silvery tube), and found them both good. I think the Mercier was a bit of a better skin match, and it has lasted ages. I tend to mix it with a bit of moisturizer though because my skin is quite dry. Testing is best though, I agree.

Another vote for Clarins here, I like the smell of it too.

I'm also a minimal makeup person who avoids deathly ill look with a bit of aforementioned tinted moisturiser and a tickle of blusher and clear mascara.

Am interested to know what eye liner you use, as I've had limited success / failure with a kohl pencil.

Laura Mercier always gets good reviews. I am also always impressed by Estee Lauder, although it always feels like an 'old lady' brand to me!

Montife I swear by the utterly drab Rimmel in brown. I use it on my eyebrows too, if I haven't had them tinted [they are white!]. It seems to go on and stay on longer than the others I've tried. I certainly tried lancome, Chanel, Maybelline and a few others I can't remember.

Few years ago i used a clarins tinted moisturiser and it was very nice, but i used the sunbeds alot so was very dark, no doubt they would have improved it now, so probably a useless recommendation, the women at my local counter aren't very friendly so i've not bought clarins for a while.

The estee lauder one that someone mentioned is very nice, used it last summer and i am now very pale.

Chanel tinted moisturiser is the best, imo. I wear it when skiing and during the summer months when I don't want to look too "made up". Very moisturising and smells delish
