Talk to me about bare minerals

I went to Debenhams today and got the lady to apply the foundation. I didn't buy it as I wasn't sure about it, but the lights in there are really unflattering.

I wasn't sure if it made my pores look bigger. Also not sure if it showed up the fine crows feet laughter lines around my eyes.

It made me look quite made up but didn't 'feel' like it IYSWIM.

Have any of you used it? How did you find it?

I started using it last year after buying the foundation kit and the eyeshadow kit in Sephora. I really like it. I thought it made me look better, whilst not made up in the day time, yet with a bit more iykwim, could alter it to a heavier look. I also bought the smokey eye kit for using last christmas, which I liked as well. I have subsequently tried similar foundations from cheaper brands like Avon and Rimmel and another one. I should have saved my money and just bought the Bare essentials stuff again as it was the best. Also liked the brushes that came with it. Good quality and look like new despite daily use.

Cheers

I might give it a try and see how I get on.

I bought it. At first I thought it looked good, good colour too. But a few hours later I noticed it was actually highlighting my wrinkles somehow, making me look older.

I am 38.

Now I only use the blusher.

I use it
I have oily skin so it makes my skin look less greasy almost normal.

I bought the highlighting kit in Sephora, and while I don't really used much of it I always use the concealer and will buy it again when it runs out.

It doesn't really work for me. I bought some and although it felt nice it really did seem to show up my pores and make me look more made up.

I have combination skin and quite open pores on my cheeks....so maybe that is why? Perhaps it works better on dryer skin. I am 38 as well!

I bought the starter kit in Selfridges over a year ago and I am converted now! The woman on the counter was excellent (not at all pushy).

However, my skin is quite dry with this cold weather so have gone back to a liquid foundation for the time being but also using the BM blusher.

Like sammac I did buy other brands but was complete waste of money - Bare Minerals is definitely worth the money!

i've tried other brands too and bare minerals is the best, the colour i have is a little too dark for my pale winter skin at the moment, i'm on my 3rd pot been using it for a few years now, always have to try out other new foundations but always come back to this one, really should order it in a paler colour for winter time. Moisturise well before hand and let it really sink in, then buff the mineral on and buff again and again before adding anymore product. If i'm in a rush and haven't buffed it enough i can see it sitting there on my skin looking heavy. The only problem i have is applying a concealer for dark circles and spots afterwards it tends to look obvious. I have the mineral blusher too but its again too dark for me, need only a tiny bit.

I have used bare minerals for a few years now. Like some have said it can settle into fine lines a bit. But I have since realized that this is because I have not buffed enough!

You do really have to stick with it and get the application right IMO

I am trying youngblood mineral foundation as apparently this is what Cheryl Cole uses....! Very good but not worth the higher price than bare minerals IMO.

I find the bare mineral brushes terrible. After less than a year mine start breaking and shed all over my top - very annoying. I am on the hunt for good brushes..
