Can you exchange beauty gifts?

MIL got me some Clarins hand cream. I know I won't use it - will a Clarins counter exchange it? Don't have a receipt, but it's still all in the packaging, hasn't been opened.

I'll have it! It's gorgeous- why don't you want it? Bought it for my BF for Xmas!

Might be a problem without receipt but you can try- can she tell you which store she bought it at?

you'll be able to sell it on ebay if you can't take it back. People pay a good price for luxury skin care products.

Prob should have posted in Relationships as I have handcream ishoos. When I was 17 I used to work in a boring office with an unpleasant old woman who was forever slapping the stuff all over her hands. She spent all day bitching about people, pausing only to hyperventilate if she didn't have at least 3 bottles of handcream lined up on the desk. Kind of put me off it for life.
