okay, so as mentioned on the other thread, my dh bought me an Oushka bag for Xmas .. sadly though, it;s the same as the one I already have 'cept in a different colour (ho hum)

so am going to exchange for one of the following. Which one??

phoenix

or the wigmore

am confounded by sizes on this site - the dimensions given are weird ... surely the heights include the handle drop??? I only like large bags .....

I prefer the Wigmore.

Have a look at the photos of the models using the bags for an idea of their size. The Wigmore looks like the larger of the two.

Your Wigmore link doesn't work for me. Which colour do you like?

ItsAllaBitNoisy · 27/12/2009 01:46

That's a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a handbag.

LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 08:39

Well, Noisy, that's just one of the reasons I'm glad that I'm married to dh and not to you.

Hi Amandaoh. Did you have a nice Christmas? It's the plum I like for both bags

AnnieBeansMum · 27/12/2009 08:44

I prefer the wigmore personally - I'm not keen on the tassels and the height of the phoenix.

pennyrain · 27/12/2009 09:04

The Wigmore is lush..beautiful shape!

geordieminx · 27/12/2009 09:18

I would go for the Phoenix, but would be tempted to order both, and have a good look at them, as I dont think the website does them justice.

I would also order the brunton in blue cos I think it would look lovely in the summer.

carciofi · 27/12/2009 09:22

I prefer the Wigmore but I really like the bag Geordieminx linked.

yama · 27/12/2009 09:28

Definitely the Wigmore.

traceybath · 27/12/2009 09:33

I like both but would agree that you should order both and see which is best in the flesh.

I had a surprise mulberry bag from DH - the east west bayswater in chocolate which is lovely.

Hope you survived christmas with the in-laws . . .

LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 09:44

Thanks for the birthday wishes the other day tracey and carciofi!

Tracey, full marks to your dh, how gorgeous! How did baby B enjoy her first Christmas? I survived, yes. Was only a matter of 5 hours or so, mustn't be churlish....

Get the Phoenix Cake. It is your DD's name, you have been looking at it for ages. It's meant to be!

LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 09:56

Hi Choo! Thanks so much for your message the other day, was really lovely. Are you at your MiL's? Hope it's warm!

OP posts:
CHOOGIRL · 27/12/2009 10:08

Yes am in Spain. It is warm but not tropical. Off to the beach in a mo. It is a style backwater there are no shops for anyone under 60. Have bought my laptop so I can do some shopping whilst here. NAP sale started yesterday and I have my eye on an Erdem top in the Outnet.

LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 11:46

Oh god every email I've received in the last few days seems to be telling me about another fabulous sale... Not good for the ole willpower. Have bought a pair of Oliver peoples sunnies in the nap sale but studiously avoiding looking at the clothes!

ItsAllaBitNoisy · 27/12/2009 11:50

Sorry, it's none of my business whatsoever what you spend your money on.

Hope you enjoy your bag!

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 27/12/2009 11:54

They are both gorgeous! You lucky thing

vvvodka · 27/12/2009 11:58

wigmore

LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 12:37

Noisy, I should apologize. I read your post and wrote my reply before I'd had a coffee. Sorry

OP posts:
ItsAllaBitNoisy · 27/12/2009 12:48

LetThemEatCake, mine was beverage induced too.
Apologies.

crumpette · 27/12/2009 13:04

Get the wigmore bag, I got the phoenix bag a while ago and it's rubbish not as nice as I had hoped, handle length makes it hard to wear over your arm, leather isn't particularly soft, hideous lining..

MadameOvary · 27/12/2009 13:10

Oushka bags, while lovely, are rip-offs of Sissi-Rossi IMO. I liked Oushka till I saw the SR bags, they are gorgeous, but also three times the price!

Washed leather is so hard to get right, more often than not you end up with something that looks like a chamois for cleaning windows.
