this one

I really want a tan bag, this is more light brown.

Anyone seen any nice ones in the sale? I'm thinking of the Lloyd Baker Evie bag (not yet reduced on reddirect - but hopefully they will have a sale)

I think that Oushka do nicer bags than that one

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 22:16

I got the grey one

LetThemEatCake · 26/12/2009 22:46

the grey what, G?

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 22:49

oakly.

LetThemEatCake · 26/12/2009 22:55

way-hey, snap!!

okay, I need your advice (apols for hijack)

My Oushka Xmas delivery turned out to be the Oakley in Plum.

DH said "I thought it looked like the kind of thing that you'd like". Yes, 10 points, genius - especially as I have the exact same bag in grey, a fact that he apparently failed to notice

so clearly I need to exchange (although it is divine - but just too daft to have same bag in 2 diff colours)

soooo ... which bag?

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 22:59

Have you got the phoemix already?

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 22:59

Have you got the phoenix already?

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 23:03

If so, Norton or Brunton in plum? Also am drawn to Brunton in blue, although not sure what I would wear it with?

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 23:05

Quite like this although would remove shouder strap?

LetThemEatCake · 26/12/2009 23:07

haven't got the Phoenix - I think it's still my fave although I find myself looking longingly at the wigmore too

love the Blue Brunton. Wear with denim & white in summer (clean) or brown in winter ... lush

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 23:12

I like the style of the wigmore, but the colours dont seem to be very accurate IYKWIM? Maybe its justmy lappy, but they all look the same colour to me?

Yup blue one. or the plum phoenix. Both more expensive than the oakley. DH is going to love you!!!

LetThemEatCake · 26/12/2009 23:15

dh feeling very guilty because poor Xmas performance this year, while mine stellar [smug]

can get whatever I want

when's bday? 29?

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 23:20

Dh utterly spoilt me, but a few bits are going back due to money over need/want. He bought me a DKNY purse, which is heavily monochromed, not me at all... £85. Fool. Especially since it was bought from JL, and have a pile of vouchers left over from wedding.

Also bracelet from Goldsmiths which is lovely, but I have something almost identical. Bless him.

Yup, birthday on tuesday, really dont want anything, just a nice day out.

He bought me a new car and private reg for wedding - THIS IS ENOUGH!!

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 23:22

Just realised that doesnt really make sense, mean he paid a large amount for things I dont really need or want? That sounds really ungrateful, but its not, I just dont want a purse that is £85 IYKWIM?

Would rather more Bobby Brown make up

Cloakofdarkness · 26/12/2009 23:27

LTEC - Can you please tell me if the Oakley can be worn over the shoulder - it's difficult to see in the pics. Thanks.

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 23:28

Yup. No probs

Cloakofdarkness · 26/12/2009 23:33

Thanks, geordieminx!

LetThemEatCake · 26/12/2009 23:35

yep, Cloak, don't be put off by the daft 'crook of the arm' picture

I got a gorgeous purse for Xmas from ds1 - the turquoise birds zip purse on this page Love it. Yes it's plether, yes it's not Mulberry but I really love it!!

I can't remember which MNer it was but I remember someone saying that they got their dh to return a purse because it cost more money than they were ever likely to have in it! Totally agree.

You don't sound ungrateful. But you do sound weird about your makeup

Cloakofdarkness · 26/12/2009 23:43

Thanks. I've been looking at this for a few days after seeing Oushka mentioned here.

Looks like there are a few fans here! I presume that you all think that these bags are lovley. Do they wear well?

LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 00:27

I've only had mine a few weeks but am hard on my stuff and using it as a nappy bag to boot (have 3 dcs, aged 3 and under; they are also hard on my stuff!!!) ... it seems to be bearing up pretty well under the abuse

I'd say the leather would be a better bet than the suede if it's longevity you're after though ...

beyondfurious · 27/12/2009 13:09

er....you're all useless, none of those, admittedly lovely, bags come in any sort of tan

now can you all bog off and find me a nice tan leather bag preferably in the sale for a hundred-ish.

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 13:34

Oh sorry... Were we supposed to be helping you find a bag??

Have you checked the netaporter sale?

LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 13:36

Oh a hundredish. Hmm.

Get the grey Oakley.

beyondfurious · 27/12/2009 14:19

maybe up to 200 but it then must be in the sale as I want a bargain

I had a browse on net-a-porter yesterday and didn't see much - I want leather not fabric though and the marc jacobs fabric shoppers are £150-ish in the sale

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 15:01

I actually just sold a tan leather marc Jacobs bag on eBay a few weeks ago.

Have you looked at the tabitha website? Tkmaxx? My-wardrobe?
