Do spotty ties go with pinstripe suits?

Hi all

I'm very excited as for the first time in 6 years we have a babysitter and are going out on New Years eve! We are booked to go to a nice hotel for dinner, jazz band and fireworks. DH is wearing a suit and I'd like him to wear a tie (he never wears a tie) as I think it will look smarter. However I am struggling to picture what tie will go with his suit. So can anybody help and tell me whether you think that this look like it would go with a charcoal pinstripe suit and a blue shirt?
