my DH won't wear a scarf. he thinks they are poncey

he doesn't eat quiche either....

mmelindt · 20/12/2009 15:00

DH eats quiche but does not wear a scarf.

He does use an umbrella though, for which he was ridiculed by my brother.

lol at OP
I know the look but no, dh isn't wearing that today - he's gone out shoppingfor a Christmas present for me and had jeans and a jacket on but that's normal garb for him.
He did push the boat out and stick a hat on, though, today as it's so bloody cold!
Not a stripy one, though

Twinkleandpearls · 20/12/2009 15:01

We were not out today but that is his standard shopping outfit

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 20/12/2009 15:02

dh doesn't even wear a coat

he wears the same short-sleeved shirts or t-shirts he has all year round...

he is well 'ard

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 20/12/2009 15:03

lol AnyFucker
I know it's cold if dh wears a hat so I guess you would say he is a quiche-eating ponce?

Twinkleandpearls · 20/12/2009 15:12

He has just left the house to take dd shopping and he has one jeans, coat and stripey scarf

FolornHope · 20/12/2009 15:15

i got dh one of those scarves abut four years ago
wondeered why i kept seeing them now

notquitenormal · 20/12/2009 15:16

Yesterday DP wore a short sleeve t-shirt, long sleeved t-shirt, half zip fleece top & a double fleece lined regatta coat (with woolly hat, thinsulate gloves, two pairs of hiking socks and his steel toe-capped work boots.) Oh, and jeans.

He had DS similiarily trussed up.

You would have thought he was going treking in Siberia rather than just going into Birmingham City Centre.

No scarf though.

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 20/12/2009 15:16

maybe it was your dh who started the trend, FolornHope!

OliviaMNTeamColaAllTheWayBaby · 20/12/2009 15:21

spray at forlornhope's 4 year old trend only catching on now
What is poncy about a man using an umbrella?
[fpuzzled]

brimfull · 20/12/2009 15:24

dh refuses to wear a scarf

Nowtheres4 · 20/12/2009 15:25

I know the exact look, my xh used to wear a lovely paul smith stripey number.
I went shopping with my boyfriend (too short a relationship to call him my partner even though boyfriend sounds silly for a 33yr old woman and a 34 yr old man)and he was wearing a stripey scarf just like the one pictured, i thought he had more origionality than that.

Heated · 20/12/2009 15:29

Dh was in shorts and tshirt yesterday - brr

Have bought him a stripey scarf for carol singing/outdoor charity thing on Wednesday - but in wide horizontal stripes, which of course make all the difference!

CybilinExcelsisDaewoo · 20/12/2009 15:58

How many of these poor sods will get another identical scarf for Christmas

OP posts:
mmelindt · 20/12/2009 16:19

My brother is a Scottish well 'ard lad, OliviaMN and considers wearing more than a tshirt with a wooly jumper poncey.

Actually, I think he told my DH, 'Umbrellas are for gurrrls' in his broad Scottish drawl.

LOL at ForlornHope's trendsetter DH. What is he wearing these days?

squashimodo · 20/12/2009 16:21

Almost, only dh wore my pashmina as a scarf yesterday.

OliviaMNTeamColaAllTheWayBaby · 20/12/2009 18:02

MmeLindt I s'pose that's the only way of dealing with how much it rains in Scotland, is just to brave it out.

Tortington · 20/12/2009 18:05

yes indeed he does. v. much like the one in the op - fashioned around his neck like the one in the op

accomapnied by flat cap. ( shit you not)

MarthaFarquhar · 20/12/2009 18:06

nope
mine went off looking like kenny in his uniqlo padded parka thing. no scarf required.

Hulababy · 20/12/2009 18:07

DH wears jeans, coat and stripy scarf at the moment. He got his scarf last year :

hohoholepew · 20/12/2009 18:08

DH doesn't wear a scarf but if he did and wore it like the model pictured, I'd have to divorce him.

does anyone have a problem with a woman wearing a similar stripy scarf, fashioned in the same nonchalent way ??

cos I my friend does that...

CybilinExcelsisDaewoo · 20/12/2009 18:15

No no problems here. No problems with men doing it either, just wonderment that it looked like they had all popped off some production line somewhere...they were identical (and all looked equally hacked off)
