Anyone had Laser treatment for unwanted hair ?

I have always had a bit of a hairy chin and after being through some hormonal treatment a wee while ago it seems to have started growing more noticeably.

I have been having electrolysis for a number of years but haven't noticed much difference in the regrowth and it's a nuisance having to have an appointment every month, not to mention the ongoing cost.

I have been in for a laser consultation and want to give it a go. It is horrifically expensive but they take Tesco Clubcard vouchers, so if we make a concerted effort to get more points i may be able to pay for it this way within a few months.

Anyway to cut a long story short, anyone had it ? Did it work, how many treatments did you have and did your hair stay away permanently ?

Thanks

I went to a SKN clinic for my tache upper lip. I have dark hair. I had 6 treatments and it has not regrown. I probably could do with a couple more for the stragglers, but I'm happy with the result.

Thanks for response, does it hurt to have it done ? How long ago did you have it ?

I have the same problem- roughly how much does it cost?

I found that the elipse machine worked best for me, but was very painful. Within 6 months the hair would grow back but I didn't go oftn enough. Mind you 6-7 months without a hairy chin is great.

best money I ever spent :-) do it do it do it
(but shop around! there are some dodgy ones out there!)

notanidea · 19/12/2009 10:36

what do you look for when you shop around?Am very keen.

rookiemater · 19/12/2009 20:07

Notanidea, the price I was quoted at skIn was £500 for 6 sessions for chin and side burns ( I'm a right catch)

I was a bit at this but as I said they do take Tesco vouchers and each £1 = £4 so I'm hoping that if I make a special effort to look out for any Tesco club card promotion points offers I should have saved up enough to cover it in a few months.

Manyhands is the elipse something you have done in a salon or something you buy ? Not too bothered about pain, have electrolysis currently so figure it can't be too much different from that and the patch test was unpleasant but not unbearable.

oh dear. Hey I did see some promotion code somewhere where they give you 750 ppoints when u shop for 50 pounds.Good luck.

RamblingRosa · 21/12/2009 08:48

I'd say that's a lot. I know you can get it done at reputable salons in London for £38 per session (and it usually takes about 4-6 sessions).

I tried Ellipse: 6 sessions of Ellipse and they are all gone. I have done bikini and underarms. Do it in the winter though, as you need to protect yourself from the sun during the treatment, and you need to leave about 6 weeks in between sessions.

Elipse is done in a saln £50 a session for my chin, am in the North west if you need recommendations for the area.
