Chunky Fairisle Cardi/Poncho but no angora please

Bought a grey/navy chunky cardi/poncho with fairisle sleeves in River Island today (can't link but is the kimono sleeve chunky cardi on their site) - is v nice plus had extra £15 off so truly bargainous at £35.
I really like it except for the fact that it obviously has some angora in it - when I tried it on at home later it shed all over my flannel skirt which I could live with if I only ever wore it with jeans but I am a contact lens wearer and even wearing it for 10 mins was making my eyes itch.

Does everyone else have this problem with angora - who in god's name likes it?

Reluctantly therefore I think it is going to have to go back but I like it so much I now need to find a similar non-shedding replacement garment.

Funnily enough I had been eyeing this up the night before but it is a bit pricy, even reduced.

I saw GAP had some rather lurid coloured ones but I prefer the tones of the RI/Farhi ones.

I have an angora cardi which I love but which drives me mental with its constant shedding. It's chocolate brown and looks gorgeous with cream but it's just a no go

Anything at ASOS which grabs you?

eshermummy · 15/12/2009 22:13

forgot about ASOS!
Quite a few nice poncho/cardi things but not THE ONE.
I already have a poncho/kimono sleeved tabard thing with no buttons in charcoal grey (last year's Toast, sale purchase ) which I don't wear much due to lack of buttons and I really wanted a bit of fair isle detailing - this cold weather has made me want to go all swiss chalet

like this - but I think maybe it's just a bit silly.

Also this but why do I always like the expensive ones?

I really wanted one that I could wear as cardi under a coat as is always too cold in the mornings (for me) to do the layered knitwear thing that I see other people doing !

Not keen on the Miss S one but the AE one is not bad.

Don't know whether to go for the sale Farhi one after all.....

Off to bed now, thanks for looking, night night Tulpe
