As you can tell I am hopeless with this sort of thing, want to get a new one but not sure where to start looking, mid 40's normal to dryish skin

High street shop preferable as I want it asap and would like to look at it and try it before buying

Thanks!

I'm on 2nd bottle of Chanel, but am getting less and less impressed- or maybe it's just my face.
Might have a Bobbi Brown makeover in Jan.

Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser is amazing. Makes you look younger (I am a similar age to you) and it feels great - even to someone who's never worn foundation before.

Forget it, don't bother wasting your time and money on foundation. No one ever notices unless you go orangey.

It made no difference, noone noticed when I wore it for a change.

I think it makes a massive difference, but maybe its just my ski, which is quite uneven and dull.

Makes a massive difference to me too.

Bobby Brown Skin Foundation is my favourite of the moment. I apply their vitamin E cream first, then this. It's good cover, but looks natural and my skin (normally a little dry and dehydrated) feels great.

This is the cream I use before foundation. Whilst I can't often be bothered with the 101 different types of lotions and potions we're all supposed to use, it has actually made a big difference to my skin, and makes the foundation go on smoothly, but oddly stay longer.
