Coat help needed... again!!

Am throwing myself on the mercy of MNetters...

PLEASE help me find a coat like this, but in a camel colour.

A belted trench coat type would also be good, but must be warm woollen type fabric and a camel colour.

Am desperate; any help appreciated

I found a selection of single- and double-breasted camel wool coats but not belted.

This one is perfect according to your brief. But it costs just under a grand

This one is still nearly £500 and the shape of the skirt bit isn't quite right either.

Norkily- the La Redoute one is almost perfect; but they are out of my size (18) Unless their sizes come up big? [hopeful emoticon]

I don't know, I think sizing can be variable so might be worth a try? Somewhere on here is a La Redoute voucher code that will give you £50 off a £100 spend too, if it's still valid. Have a hunt around and maybe order the 16 just in case?

Norkily, can't find the magic code you speak of- but some threads seem to say their sizing comes up big.

Oh Norkily.

It's not going to arrive. Ever.

After processing my order and telling me it's on it's way, I got an email (2 days later ) saying it wasn't, it's sold out in every size.

Cu(n)stomer services were less than helpful telling me I had made a mistake, despite my conformation email .

So, now I know my perfect coat exists, but I can't have it

I hate them.

To be honest, I think you should phone back to complain if you got a confirmation email - at the very least they should have been apologetic.

Oh, I've been on the phone to them alright.

They told me there had been a 'misunderstanding', ie I misunderstood. I pointed out it was their mistake; after 20 mins I received a forced apology.

Anyway, letting it go now

The thing is, I liked that one as it was the perfect colour, belted and I liked the wide collar.

I will keep searching.

My French DP suggested we try the French site (with him translating) and they appear to have one

So, I have managed to order one to be delivered to the in-laws who are- sweet joy- coming over for Christmas. If they have one in stock (will wait a couple of days before celebrating), I will actually look forward to their arrival after all
