Dilemma - i live in jeans and am thinking of becomming in the possesion of such a sweater dress thingy ( i only own one other dress and have only wore it for 10 mins so be gentle) as can be viewed in many guises on the New look website (on a budget and have vouchers) - also in my possesion of footwear amongst numeous pairs of trainers and other shoes unsuitbale for glamming me up is my one pair of london fly boots which are knee high here so the mission is a sweater dress which will go with these boots - i dont want my tittys hanging out either. thanks

I have those exact boots and just bought a lovely cowl neck sweater dress thing from H&M (no links) for £14.99. It's a lovely purple though they had lots of colours. It's fitted, really really comfy and warm (as I need to be warm) and looks really nice with the boots and leggings. I'm not yet brave enough to try with just tights but think it would look nice too. I think it's really flattering actually.

I've also worn it as a jumper over slim leg jeans, for when I'm not feeling brave enough for a "dress" day.

ah just noticed you have New Look vouchers. Just go in and try some on. Go in wearing the boots so you can see the two together?

NorkilyChallenged · 10/12/2009 22:12

And nothing wrong with them being brown

Mine is very cosy indeed, I'm very happy with it. Shame H&M is a bit of a hassle ot get to.

Just had a look at New Look dresses. There were a few I liked, a lot of black though (which I would personally avoid with brown boots). Depends what style you like. I like hte patterned ones (there's a Mina spot one though it's got black in it and is actually probably short sleeved).

How about this in purple or grey?

Lots of colours here that would look nice with brown boots

I've liked this one for a while and you could wear a long sleeved top under it but it does look quite short.

I think the one I have from H&M is nicer but probably more jumper-y than dress-y, iykwim.

i do like that second one but what colour with brown boots and should it then be leggings or tights (see im useless), i am going to get to h and m at weekend and lull family into town to see street theatre ! I saw a grey one on newlook earlier with snowflakes on tthe top but its not there now hmmm. anyway wil check back for inspiration tomorow as bed calling me....

Snowflake one was there but short sleeved so I hadn't linked to it.

Any of those colours except black for the second one. I like a purple or red myself.

Am not brave enough to do tights so would do leggings myself but think tights would be fine. I just bought some woolly ones in H&M (grey, green and brown). Depends on your legs and your confidence (and how short the dress is when you try it on!).
