Smokey Eyeshadow Kits for a Novice

I don't usually wear eyeshadow, have never been very skilled at applying it. However I'd like to try again for a party at the weekend...
I have been considering a kit and wondered if anybody had any recommendations, so far have looked at Benefit and Bare Minerals (I have cool skin tone, blue eyes).

Have a look at this thread - it has some good ideas www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/875220-Eyeshadow-with-Blue-Eyes

I love the Benefit one and use it all the time, making it more or less smokey as the occasion allows!

i second benefit, plus they will show you how to use it

or you could find a video on youtube, thats also a good source for make up tips

Lauren Luke has lots of videos on Youtube about applying make up and has started doing stuff on This Morning. Always looks dead easy.
