Eyeshadow with Blue Eyes?

I want to buy my friend some eyeshadows for christmas as she says she's sick of using the same colours.

She has blue eyes, what colours go best with these?

If I wore bright colours round eyes would look like avant garde fashion shoot from 70s, mind you amd very pale and blonde. Smoky greys, muted purples, golds best for me (green eyes).

Trifficits - when I use kohl pencil (a good one is Estee Lauder double wear, is very soft so goes on easily without scratching feeling, but lasts) I put it on my eye before eyeshadow (alwasy put foundation on lids), when you then out eyeshadow on it 'blends' the kohl pencil so have smoky effect. Either that or liquid eyeliner put on with a swoosh - dark gunmetal grey better than black for daywear. Best liquid eyeliner the No 7 one which comes in an inkpot.

Skin tone is important, not just eye colour -- if your friend has pale skin maybe a more smoky grey palette would suit.

Urban Decay eyeshadows are ace, great pigmentation and last well. If you want something more bargainous, Superdrug stock a range called Sleek that does brilliant mineral colours for laughably small cost. You can get a palette of 10 or so different shades for about £5 and they're really good strong shades. There are different palettes for different occasions, so a more muted one for everyday wear, a more glittery/bright one for nights out etc.
