What to wear to my husbands surprise party?

So, I am arranging a surprise party for my DH's 40th at my SILs house in london.

Secretly I have booked first class tickets for my DH and I to travel down for a 'family meal' which os reality is a huge surprise party.

The thing is, I will be travelling all day to get there and the party will be as we arrive so I need to wear something to travel in that is glamourous enough to party in too.

I really have no idea! I have a silk french connection dress that I could wear with teal tights and get some fab shoes, but I don't think it would like being sat in for hours...

Any suggestions? Can't be too tarty because of travel but has to look effortlessly partyish. I usually go for shorter dresses, and am size 8-10 with boobs.

Thanks,
J*G

Don't travel in your outfit. Do hair and make up beforehand and underwear, tights etc,but travel in something comfy and grab 5 min in loo on arrival to change into party dress and shoes.

Go naked. That will be a surprise for him.

If you are flying First Class you'll have access to nicer toilets on board not to mention the FC Lounge so you should have ample space and time to change )

purplehat yes it is on the train (sadly)

But love the idea of wearing underwear/tights jewellry and then just flinging on dress in toilets.

Still don't know what to wear though....!

Really fancied something new!

You will look fab Am quite jealous of your size 8/10 with boobs (but then I am 25 wks pg, so am jealous of any slim people at the moment!).

Enjoy the party...I did a surprise party for DH's 50th last year and was absolutely shaking when it came to the big evening. It was at my SIL's restaurant and he knew we were going there for a family dinner - what he didn't know that there were over 100 people there to celebrate with him, some of whom he hadn't seen for 30-odd years. It was great, still get butterflies thinking about the anticipation of it all now
