How long does your make-up last for?

Mine has pretty much disappeared by mid-day. Am wondering whether it's my method of applying it or is it simply unreasonable to expect to get the best part of a day out of a morning application? What are the secrets for stay-put makeup? Thanks!

Mine lasts pretty much all day.

I use moisturiser, then foundation then powder (all from Clinique). On my eyes I use a base from Estee Lauder that stops the eyeshadow wandering.

Mine lasts all day now, I use a long-stay cream shadow from Bobbi Brown on my eyes and Benetint on my cheeks over a very light foundation.

When I used to use cheaper products it didn't last, and also my skin was oilier when I was younger and it all used to just slide off my face!

It must be me then! I use a Liz Earle moisturiser, Chantecaille Future Skin foundation, bronzer, cream blusher (Bobbi Brown) and BB eye products which do last. I do sometimes use a Mac Primer but honestly it doesn't make any difference. I am really bad about cleansing - just a warm facecloth most nights although I do Liz E cleanse & polish some nights and do use toner every morning.

So ladies, put me right please cos i think the products are ok and tis me that's the problem!!

Have you tried Mac Fix Plus? I've always wanted to try this, it's supposed to be sprayed on after foundation to fix makeup in place.

For me its always been a matter of formulation. I've always had trouble keeping dewy foundations and cream eyeshadow in place even with powder/primer.

Thanks Walnut ... haven't heard of that but will look into it and give it a go. It's most frustrating having my white-faced, dark-circled eye look back by the time I need to collect the children from school !

I need to touch up by lunchtime often but depends on what I am doing really.

I just got the MAC Fix+ - you can spray it on your brush before applying any product - I have been applying my eyeshadows this way and they definitely last longer and the colour stays true. I tried it with foundation - not sure if it is making any difference or not but gives a really nice dewy glow finish so I like it a lot.

Walnut - have you tried the MAC paint pots - they have brilliant staying power and cheaper then the Estee Lauder double wear eye creams and with better colours. You can use one as a base and put your eyeshadow over the top and it makes the eyeshadow last all day too. Until I discovered these I never had any eyeshadow last more than a few hours and not more than a couple of hours without creasing.

Millie - Have you tried the smashbox primer - I find that works well and also the laura mercier one.
