Save on hoovering by slathering on your usual body lotion and then roll round naked on the carpet after the kids have been eating crisps?

purplepeony · 06/12/2009 15:36

I always do that though- wanted to try something different

I've used sugar and salt (separatey, I mean, not together) and massage oil or almond oil and a few drops of essential oils then whizzed it up in a blender. Be careful not to use too much oil - I usually do. I also put a tiny bit of water in.

Have to admit that I find the nice store bought stuff much better though. I love Ren...

I love Ren but haven't bought any of the body scrubs as they are £££ but I do use a lot of their other stuff- rose shower wash, bidy lotion, frankincense night cream...

honey and sugar works wonders for me.

Yes, all the Ren stuff is lovely, I agree. The Rose Otto bath oil - that whole range actually - is second to none, I think. If you like rose stuff of course. In case you're thinking of ordering, check their advent calendar first.

thanks JJ. I am hoping Santa will be kind to me

Someone on here recommended olive oil with salt or sugar.

I find that great.

Would like a recipe for my face, because it's too rough - maybe a blender is the answer?

purplepeony · 06/12/2009 20:03

Blend your face you mean

I googled and found a few ideas- including one for face which i think said use oatmeal.

cakeslover, how does the honey and sugar thing work? Isn't it really sticky? Is it just those two ingredients?

My husband came home the other day with Space NK bags, whoo hoo. He had the stuff wrapped at the store though, so I can't peek. Not that I would!

Jux · 07/12/2009 10:29

I used to make my own face scrub - honey, medium oatmeal and a bit of lemon juice.

Good honey, mind

SerenityNowAKABleh · 07/12/2009 11:09

Honey works well, particularly if your skin is a bit dry. I used to put it on while in the bath, and massage it in a bit, and then leave it.
