I think it's very nice. Don't even mind the jacket either!

MrsMattie · 04/12/2009 18:50

Not my style, but I think it's a nice dress, very simple and could be quite elegant yet festive with the right accessories.

TillyMintSpy · 04/12/2009 18:53

Looks nice from what you can see in the picture, but agree - I'm not keen on the jacket either!

ok thank you, having a major crisis and very hurt at some comments made (in rl) about the last dress i bought.

i suppose i am a "simple" kind of person when it comes to formal wear, am hoping to make it look more edgy wih the right jewellery.

keep the comments coming please.

it looks a bit up and down to me. are you curvy? do you have decent undies? you may find there's a bit of bagging on the waist which could be sorted with a couple of darts but it's not the kind of thing most people are confident to do. other than that it's a nice dress, but how well it fits you determines the impression it gives, imho.

heartofgold · 04/12/2009 19:00

actually you prolly couldn't put darts in but could shape the side seams if necessary. and on second look, it's a lovely dress.

paranoidandroidwithabobcut · 04/12/2009 19:10

i am tall and curvy, going to wait till the dress is here and then get fantastic underwear to go underneath. dont mind paying for decent underwear if its going to make my shape better.

what kind of darts do you mean?

i'd want to put one on either side starting under the bustline, widening to the waist and tapering again to hip level, but with the sequinned fabric (and i presume a lining) that isn't going to work but adding a little extra curve at the waistline on the side seams might do.

but this may be just how it looks on the mannequin, hopefully it will be a perfect, slinky fit on you

thank you will report back in a few days.
