Weird spots on face - what to do?

I've had these spots on my face for several months now. They basically look [sorry TMI warning] like whiteheads, but can't be squeezed and are quite hard. They don't seem to have a 'head' to speak of, and they show no sign of shifting. Does anyone know what they are, or how i might go about getting rid of them? Not exactly a serious enough question for the GP, and they're not hideous, but i'd like to be rid of them.

Thanks

I get similar thing sometimes - its a hormonal and/or stress thing.

Drink more water, less tea/coffee, eat properly and get some sleep. Horrid white spots will eventually go away.

I think they are called 'malia' and are an accumilation of keratin under the epidermis. They have to be removed by a dermatologist, using a very fine needle.

Thanks both

Jemart, the hormone thing makes sense as i am in late pregnancy now. However, this also means I am unlikely to get more sleep, or drink less coffee any time soon! I will work on the eating better and drinking more water though, thank you.

Merle, so if they can be removed by a dermatologist, that suggests a referral by the GP might not be out of the question? Maybe i'll go along and see if they laugh me out of the surgery...it's not exactly life threatening!
