What to wear with black sequined top?

I have DH's work do coming up this Saturday and would like to wear a black sequined top that I bought from TopShop last year. It's scoop neck, 3/4 sleeves and made of stretch jersey, with black sequins covering the front of it. It's fairly tight-fitting, but not uncomfortable.

I have worn it with jeans before for kind of a rock chick look but the dress code is smart, so I think jeans are out.

Any suggestions? I am size 8-10 and have nice legs, although don't do too well in very high heels. Am more funky in style, rather than girly girl but DH doesn't always appreciate my fashion efforts, IKYWIM, and as it's his do, I'd like to tow the line a bit! TIA!

what about wearing it with some black trousers, sparkly kitten heels and a sparkly sequin small clutch bag shoes and bag could be any colour (preferably match each other)

I got some fab trousers from Matalan at the weekend - only 14 quid a pair! They look like jeans but are made of silver satin material, skinny fit and look fab with heels, they do them in black too.

When I say silver I mean deep grey type silver.

You need ahundreds new black trousers with a satin stripe down the side. They'd do the job. Then peep toe platforms.

Like the idea of black pencil skirt & platforms (anyone seen any nice skirts around?) and tuxedo trousers sound good too. Where did she find them Themaster?
