Top to go with high waisted pencil skirt?

I bought it for last year's xmas do - black satin high waisted pencil skirt.

Now I have my first meal out post DD2 and it actually fits and holds everything in... BUT.... I wore it with a corset last time. No way am I going for a) a meal or b) putting breastfeeding norks in a corset.

So, what do I put with it? I'm a size 12, huge of nork, have v little to spend and need to be able to go and buy it before Thurs evening

Something fitted. I am wearing a pencil skirt with a fitted scoop neck top on friday and it looks great I am the same size and equally huge of nork. Mine is from H and M but is more than a year old. I think they'd have some of the same style though. Go for a nice bright colour, and peeptoe shoes.

I would go for a blouse for a 40s look- something like this or this tucked in.

Or with lace or crochet...

JaneiteMightBite · 01/12/2009 22:38

Fitted cami that sits just at the top of the skirt, with an open v or scoop necked cardigan to channel your inner-Nigella.

Dp says he'll post your parcel tomorrow - but I have forgotten to put Sense And Sensibility in it. Sorry.

The 40s style blouses are lovely - but not good on norks methinks. They'd look terrible on me anyway and it sounds like we are a similar size.

Flame · 01/12/2009 22:48

Yup I think I'm with Janeite on the 40s style - I love them but they make me look freaky.

Will head out tomorrow and look for fitted scoop neck and/or cami and see how it goes

Thnk you!

No worries about the book - you will have many more chances

This is lovely, comes in pink silver turquoise and purple and only £7.50. Not sure what its like in RL tho here

Flame · 02/12/2009 12:28

Right, I have been shopping and ended up with a sort of pinky/peach sparkle flecked cowl necked top which I think works tucked in, or a black cami type top with rose swirl things on the neckline (chunky swirls of fabric) which I'm less sure about (It seems that bit too loose untucked, but dubious tucked in). I think I will take to a friend or my mum or something to give a rl opinion (I tried taking photos but I'm feeling too post baby flabby for me to see them objectively

I also ended up with a pair of green peep toe shoes (completely not needed...)

Any links to the tops flame? They both sound lovely!
