what should I wear with a navy wool tunic/dress.....

I have a lovely soft navy wool tunic/short dress from Kew that I have yet to wear as I don't know what to wear it with.
Choices are..
Either
Grey leggings,brown leggings,black leggings,but what boots,black or brown?
Cannot wear it over skinny jeans as it is a bit unforgiving and the waistband shows.
Can anyone advise?

I wear a lot of navy, I feel that colour combinations depend on the textures of the fabrics IYSWIM.

I think in terms of leggings, grey or black would be better, as navy and brown fabric together can be dull, but when you are talking about fabric and leather, a navy dress and shiney brown boots can look great.

I love that combination of navy and black patent, and wear that a lot.

So, navy dress, grey leggings, brown boots.

Navy dress, black leggings, black boots.

If you buy some navy leggings, then you'll could wear with either brown or black boots.

It is more of a tunic than a dress so a bit short just for tghts.
Would love some black patent boots but daren'r buy anything at t he moment,have too many clothes/shoes/boots already!
