ok DH says he'll buy me a red coat

and I like this one what do you think? I've checked out lots of other places and I think this is the best...

classic, boring? single breasted, fitted always flattering. buttons stop at waist height, will the bottom bit be flappy and draughty and annoy you? (i have a coat like this that gapes) are you a scarf wearer? if not the button up to the neck thing will work, if you do like scarves maybe look for something with longer lapels.

you're right, its not very exciting, but then I think that means I'll wear it more...I can't find anything nicer though

i hear you - have for once let head rule heart in my winter coat search - instead of the fur i was after have gone for classic wool with a view to still wearing it in 15 years time. have you been to tkmaxx? main thing, is it the right red for you? no point getting a classic, flattering cut if the colour makes you look washed out.

Red tends to suit me, so should be ok. I think I must be getting old, thinking of classic rather than on trend...
