this one here in black

Its for christmas day, I would be getting it in 14/16, do you think it wouls suit? I have a mummy tummy but hold in knickers.

Was thinking heels and purple tights? Or maybe red to make it more Christmassy?

Shit never mind, it looked like it was in stock till I tried to put it in my basket.

WouldYouCouldYouWithAGoat · 27/11/2009 10:26

bustier! puffball! are you mad?

notyummy · 27/11/2009 10:27

Mmmm - second one a bit too 'evening out' i think for Xmas day. Liked the first one - with coloured tights as you said.

Wallis has some good stuff in at the mo.

CirrhosisByTheSea · 27/11/2009 10:28

the first one was much nicer. They have similar in loads of places - try next, or debenhams on line, or Very or Littlewoods....

The first style with red tights would be great I think

Disenchanted3 · 27/11/2009 10:28

ermm yes probably.

i like it

are you having a mollie ringwald theme on christmas day?

notyummy · 27/11/2009 10:31

wouldyoucouldyou - snap!!

What are the odds of that?!

Disenchanted3 · 27/11/2009 10:31

no idea what/who that is wouldyou.

OP posts:
notyummy · 27/11/2009 10:33

To be fair, Disenchanted is MUCH younger than me and therefore more likely to wear a puffball (and also not to have a clue about the fashion influences in Pretty in Pink couldyouwouldyou )

Having said, the only people I have seen 'working' a puffball thingy have been 8/10 with teeny waists and v trim upper arms.

WouldYouCouldYouWithAGoat · 27/11/2009 10:34

bless!

Disenchanted3 · 27/11/2009 10:35

yes, bless me

OP posts:
CirrhosisByTheSea · 27/11/2009 10:41

thing is, on christmas day, why the hell not wear a puffball and a bustier if you want to? Lets forget the size-ism thing for five minutes. 14/16 is not huge.

Personally i much prefer the first dress and am not a puffball person, but I defend to the death your right to wear puffballs, etc etc

CirrhosisByTheSea · 27/11/2009 10:41

and this thread has reminded me that I want a nice christmas day top, I am going to start a thread right now!

WouldYouCouldYouWithAGoat · 27/11/2009 10:44

if i wore a puffball on christmas day my main worry would be that someone would pour some brandy on my head and set me alight!

BonjourIvresse · 27/11/2009 11:07

Not keen on the harlequin one AT ALL. Looks like something you could wear to perform in the circus.

notyummy · 27/11/2009 12:42

Each to their own Bonjour! Was just looking for s bit of colour to brightne things up - agree that not everyone could carry it off though.

Also agree that people should wear what they want i.e there is no 'size statute' on puffball....indeed there are some dresses that NEED curves to carry them off. That said, I think different dress suit different body shapes, and IMHO puffballs dont flatter curvier women as much as other cuts. However worn with a 'devil may care attitude' then you can carry most things off....

BonjourIvresse · 27/11/2009 12:56

I really like the other wallis ones though, particularly the purple drapy one. Can't get the links to the redoute ones to load , but generally I think a puff ball could work for christmas.

BonjourIvresse · 27/11/2009 12:58

Just got the La Redoute ones to load, I like them both.

momijigari · 27/11/2009 13:03

I think the Wallis one that is similar to the La Redoute one is good.

Not too dressy, would be comfortable and festive(just wearing a dress would be festive for me).

notyummy · 27/11/2009 13:04

I just the puffball looks fairly short, and certainly in the picture the girl looks dressed up to go to evening christmas party/girls night out - rather than Xmas at home with family/3 kids.
