For daytime, sand/beige. Bourjois do a good one, I think it is called Rose Nacre.

For evening, purple - again, Bourjois one called Prune Intense.

heartofgold · 26/11/2009 13:26

i agree, soft browns or purples. or if you fancy something brighter gold or mossy green.

marthastewart · 26/11/2009 13:31

Hey there

am very similar colouring to you! I have hazel rather than green eyes though. I find that nudes from bobbi brown are good for me.

Had a colour analysis done recently and she told me best colours for me (clothes) were deep rich purples and black was good too, Very relieved about the black! It takes up half my wardrobe tbh!

You can always glam up the nude shadows with an eyeliner, liquid black perhaps, or some smokey colours for night time.

Good luck!

marthastewart · 26/11/2009 13:32

Yikes - meant deep rich colours - eg burgandy and purple - etc purple is my fav though!

Also she showed me a deep blush which tbh would never wear but did look pretty fab.

VerityBrulee · 26/11/2009 13:42

I have similar colouring to you, like the others here, I love pale golds for day, and purples for night.

Purple mascara is also supposed to make green eyes 'pop' as they say

Best thing I've ever done for my eyes is buy an eyelash curler, it takes 30 seconds to use (15 seconds each eye)and the effect is amazing!

teameric · 26/11/2009 13:47

I have green eyes and dark hair too and wear dark grey eyeshadow (gris intense by Bourjois) I also like to use a bit of silver if I'm going out, purples and lilacs also look lovely on green eyes

Iklboo · 26/11/2009 13:51

I have similar colouring to you but have lighter brown hair (well actually it's Morello Cherry at the minute). I wear soft browns most of the time with a bit of pale pink/rose

Bambinoloveseggbirds · 26/11/2009 13:53

Would purple suit hazel eyes, or would I just look really tired?

kittya · 26/11/2009 14:22

Ive just had my hair dyed dark and am now the same colouring as you. I had my makeup done in mac and bought their eyeshadow in green smoke and then for the evening to add humid frost to it and they both look fab. I also bought a blusher in orange!!!!!!!!!! I know but, it works.

mothersmilk · 26/11/2009 15:01

iv been looking at the new range from bourjois 'smoky eyes collection they are little tio pallettes mabe i'll get the purple one for eveningd and the goldy/brown ones for the day

Mothersmilk, bourjois won't break the bank and 3 pallettes would set you up in eyeshadow for life

MrsTittleMouse · 26/11/2009 16:19

I agree with everyone else that purple is the way to go. You can get some nice soft pinkish and burgundy colours, or go braver with bright jewel tones. Golds would look awful on me though. Do you have cool or warm skin tones? Mine are cool - I don't even have any gold jewellry as it makes me look ill.

andgodcreatedwoman · 26/11/2009 16:22

Yes, definately purple or green.

I have green eyes, pale skin and dark hair and they seems to suit me. Makes a change from browns too.

teameric · 26/11/2009 16:43

my eyeshadow is called gris delicate not intense

coffeeinbed · 26/11/2009 16:55

I used to wear purples, they just make me look tired now.
Nars Charade duo is perfect for me - have similar colouring and sadly dark circles - bit expensive, but I've had it for at least a year.

BitOfFun · 26/11/2009 17:09

Navy can be even nicer than purple with green eyes, and it brings out the whites of your eyes too.

EachPeachPearMum · 26/11/2009 20:23

I have grey/green eyes, and I find if I wear lilac it brings out the green. I often wear a smokey purpley grey which looks nice too, for evening.

hermykne · 26/11/2009 20:54

mothers milk
if you go to mac they ll give you an analysis and i bet if you get 2 colours from them, a base and then a darker one which could be loaded up for evening , you'll use them up, buying palettes is sometimes a waste of money as one will be your fav!

check out lauren luke on utube with her grt guides

kittya · 26/11/2009 22:42

Mac is the way to go. They are abit more expensive but I dont think dramatically so and you will use them for ages.

TheFallenMadonna · 26/11/2009 22:48

I wear emeraud noir by Bourjois in the evening, and a grey one (forget the name) during the day.

lavenderkate · 26/11/2009 22:53

I am same hair and eyes as you.
I wear a smudged black or dark brown eyeliner during the day with a little of a similar eye shadow blended across it lightly. Lots of mascara and 2 colours of creme blush on apples of cheeks to give a 3d effect.

I dont think you really need to wear eyeshadow.
I prefer to wear my makeup to give the illusion that my skin and eyes always look that good (Jeez glad noone but DH sees me before it). That I am a natural beauty (ha!)

roary · 27/11/2009 12:17

I have same colouring and use MAC creme de violet on the lids and satellite dreams in the crease (both purpley) with a grey eyepencil for liner, or sometimes the darker shade (satellite dreams) with an eyeliner brush.

MAC is very good value, not least because the salespeople really know what they're doing and will send you home with somethign great.

roary · 27/11/2009 12:19

PS Bambino, purple also works on hazel eyes if they have green in them.

All of this is based on complementary colours: purple/orange are complementary to green and will intensify the green. So orangey/gold shades are also great.

The right purple will not make you look tired (see MAC purples in previous posts!)

mothersmilk · 27/11/2009 12:57

thanks evryone unfortunatly the nearest mac store is an hour and a half away so i will have to wait but i did go out this morning and buy myself two of the new borgious trio pallettes one in smoky puples and one in smoky browns and im very happy they both look great and they were on special in boots £7.33 down to a fiver so a bargain aswell wich means i can still afford to go get a consultation at mac when im next in the vicinity (may go back and get the silver/grey smoky eyes from borgois aswell as its such a good price)
it amazed how adding a little colour really made eyes look GREEN rather wishy washy as normal
